Extremely RARE. Native American Indian Death Stone

This was found on Private property. Here is the info I have on it. This is known as death stone. There is a arrow mark under the tail of what looks like a dog, pointing upward to other etch marks in the right upper corner. The rear also has an etched animal on the back but it did not survive as well as the front. It probably was exposed to harsh elements while laying back side up. They were etched by the holy man for a warrior and usually were his spirits or protection giving courage and strength in life and battle. Many have hunting scenes or marks for the six grandfathers (north south east west sky and earth) or the good and bad roads of life(east and west & north and south). The rock was carried in his leather pouch with other medicine chosen by him for luck and strength. It belonged to my dad who was a collector of Native American artifacts , gems , stones , military memorabilia and family stuff dating back to his relative President Polk. He had a impressive collection of 300 arrowheads , celts, axe heads , shell necklaces , Stone and pestals , stine blades , gorgets and more. The item “Extremely RARE. Extremely Rare High Grade Bisbee Turquoise Overlay Bolo Tie by Leonard Nez

This early Bolo by Navajo Artist Leonard Nez contains one of the finest and rarest High Grade Natural Bisbee Turquoise Cabochons. The Gem features two gorgeous swirls of Bisbee Blue color surrounded by the wonderful, rich, reddish-brown, chocolate color, matrix characteristic of the Lavender Pit Mine. One of the swirls is a beautiful plain blue with no matrix and the other swirl is termed “Smokey Bisbee”. “Smokey Bisbee” is exceedingly rare and highly sought after by collectors. Having these two kinds of swirls, completely surrounded by the the beautiful “Chocolate” Lavender Pit matrix puts this Cabochon in the rarest of rare categories. Lenard placed the gorgeous High Grade Natural Bisbee Cabochon in a perfect setting. The elegant setting emphasizes the beauty of the Cabochon without overpowering it. The outer edge of the setting has a smooth edge that surrounds the gorgeous combination of of large and small feathers. A second plain edge overlaps the heavy bottom plate then more perfectly cut feathers follow with one side highlighting an Aztec influenced design. A fine hand chiseled bezel holds the large, magnificent Bisbee Cabochon. The Bolo is finished with elegant hand made cylinder tips. One expert thought “This is one of the finest bolos that Leonard Nez has ever made”. I bought this Bolo new, have owned it many years, and agree. It’s one of the “best”!! Extremely Rare Incised Shaman Ceremonial Tablet Ex B. W. Stephens-COA & Appraised

Ceremonial/ShamanTablet with Incised Face. From the Famous B. Certified – 100% Authentic – Mississippian Culture. This rare Shamans Tablet has been attributed to a burial mound recovery. This ceremonial tablet has been identified and termed as a Shamans Tablet due to the features of this artifact versus a standard paint palette. Line and geometric engravings cover the front to include an incredible human face emerging from the stone (gives it a 3D appearance), and line engravings appear on the back. The face symbols are Mississippian iconography. The symbol around the eye represents weeping and is known as an eye surround or forked eye symbol, which is well documented in scientific papers. The face also contains a distinct feature of just one eye. The symbolic missing eye could be interpreted as an injury resulting in the loss of an eye, or a birth deformity. Evident above the face is a 2-1/2 inch diameter circular depression, 1/4 inch deep, with residue stains in which this area was likely used as a mortar for grinding pigments or entheogens (plant material) for Shamanistic practices. This is a Rare artifact and is the only Shaman’s tablet currently in existence that contains a human face. There have been a few Ceremonial Tablets recovered that are currently in museums. The majority of the tablets are round. Archaeological documentation notes that rectangular tablets are rare. This artifact takes the rarity to the next level with the human face emerging from the stone. No restoration — this artifact is in tact, has some nicks in various places (please review pictures). Age: Approximately 1000 years old. Found in Colbert County Alabama, by Tennessee River, in 1901 (faded writing on front appears to read F Rice, Colbert County Alabama 1901). Size: Large 11-3/4 inches long x 9-1/16 inches wide x 5/8 inch thick. Stone: Tight grained sandstone. Color: Medium Green/speckled (camera flash used on some pictures to show detail make artifact appear lighter color). Incised carvings of geometric symbols.
