RARE 19TH C NATIVE AMERICAN PENOBSCOT CARVED ROOT WOOD CLUB. This is a rare 19th century Native American Penobscot root wood club. Made from the burl wood root, it has a carved image of a face. It also has very nice chip carved scrolling designs on the handle. The club dates to the second half of the 19th century. This club measures 20.5 long and weighs 2 lbs. This fine club dates to the 2nd half of the 19th century. The club is in very good age appropriate condition. It has losses to the bark at handle and roots and age cracks to some of the roots (see photos). Please see all photos as they are an integral part of the description. OUR TERMS – PLEASE READ. Native American Indian Crow Beaded Mirror Bag Brain Tanned Leather Fringe RARE. They specialized in fine art and Native American Indian work. All handmade and one-of-a-kind. I was told this is a Crow design. I do not know its age. The leather is either moose or deer (you can still smell the smoke). I think the beads are all old. The strap has red wool trim too. There are brass bells on the ends of the straps. It measures approx 8″ tall plus 10″ of fringe and 5.5 wide. When you are finished, you can check out. We are happy to accept local pickups. This wonderful piece has a top knot, an ear spool and a side braid. The face is decorated with weeping eyes. Some writing and an old inventory sticker on the bottom. A great object for study or display, this will make a nice addition to any student or appreciators collection of Native American art and artifacts.
