LOUIS BENESCH Painting NATIVE AMERICAN MAN MESA ARIZONA ARTIST, RARE 1972 VG
PROMINENT MESA ARIZONA ARTIST. 16′ wide x 20 tall. VERY GOOD OVERALL CONDITION. This piece is now priced below market value for similar Benesch paintings. This is a beautifully detailed and emotionally powerful painting. This piece is coming out of a friend’s private collection. Of an American Indian man by deceased Yuma Arizona artist, Louis Benesch. He was well known before his death in 2002 for his portraits of the. Native American Indians living in the Four Corners region of Arizona. This painting is sensitive to his subject who appears humble, wise, dignified and at peace. Lou, as he was known, was one of Mesa Arizona’s most prolific painters of Southwestern landscapes and culture. His art conveyed the love he had for the state of Arizona. His son donated some of his father’s collection to benefit the Yuma Regional Medical Center. The donated works are a significant part of the Center’s Art Heals Program. This listing is for one 1972 original oil painting by Louis Benesch. Please review the photographs carefully! There is an approx. 1/4 long very narrow scratch of missing paint on the bottom of the cheek. Thank you for looking. It will be double boxed. We will not accept a return on this item. Museum Quality Anasazi Pueblo or Mesa Bowl A. D. 1100-1300 no repairs! RARE
This bowl was collected in 1947 in New Mexico/Arizona. It has been judged to be Anasazi 1100 A. Approximately and is said to be Mesa or Pueblo. No cracks or severe chips. My feedback is guarantee of authenticity and quality. And yes, I note that it is not radially symmetrical. I have no explanation for that except the Native Americans frequently did that. Perhaps these are similar to “spirit lines”, or perhaps it meant something to the potter. The item “Museum Quality Anasazi Pueblo or Mesa Bowl A. D. 1100-1300 no repairs!
