WEARABLE STRAND EARLY NATIVE AMERICAN ROLLED COPPER BEADS. Note: These are not Trade beads. They are made by Native Americans from early finds of. Raw copper, pre-dating the arrival of the White Man. Reportedly found in Wisconsin, these are the finest example. Of this rare type of early Native American rolled copper beads. Usually, when they turn up, they are few in number and. Far too deteriorated to string as a wearable necklace. Description: 20 inches (doubled), the necklace has two kinds of copper beads. Rolled tubular, and small copper discs. They are from the same find and epoch. The separating white beads are early 19th century glass trade beads. The clasp is gold filled. There are 19 tubular beads ranging in length from 1 to 2 inches. Their condition, by and large, is excellent. My opinion, based on archeological finds of similar types. Notably, the Milwaukee Public Museum, which has. Several similar beads not a necklace! Dates them much earlier, to the late Archaic period, about 1,500 BCE. One archeologist has this to say: These (similar) beads appear. To have been made using the cold-hammer technique, made of raw. Pieces of copper hammered into thin sheets then rolled into. These prehistoric copper beads are extremely rare. I bought this beautiful necklace about 3-4 years ago. Talk about an investment piece of art!! This necklace is made as a reminder of the old depression era necklaces that were made of wood, battery parts, vinyl records and other imitation parts. Delbert has brought the past back to life with this incredible 23″ long plus 3″ extender double strand fine inlaid necklace. It is thick and superbly made of fine turquoise, abalone shell, red apple spiny oyster shell and jet. All hand carved and cut with a 4 pendant drop of a thunderbird. Sterling silver cone ends and extender. This item is in the category “Jewelry & Watches\Ethnic, Regional & Tribal\Necklaces & Pendants”. The seller is “seawhale1″ and is located in this country: US. RARE VINTAGE Handcrafted Salmon & Blush Pink Conch Shell Heishi & Rondelle Multi strand Necklace. Most likely Santo Domingo. Vintage: probably 1970’s to 1980’s. Necklace length: 31 Inches. Style: Boho & hippie. This gorgeous handcrafted beaded triple-strand necklace features slightly graduated strands that lay nicely nestled, light salmon tone conch shell with the most delicate blushing pink color. The conch shell beads are heishi & rondelle in shape. The piece is finished with sterling silver cone beads with hook clasp, not marked for sterling silver, however this is common with older pieces. The necklace is 31 long. Heishi (meaning “shell”) beads are small disc or tube-shaped beads made of shells or stones, traditionally cut, polished and drilled by hand. They originate with the Kewa Pueblo, previously known as the Pueblo of Santo Domingo, people of New Mexico. In Excellent Vintage Condition. The silver cone beads have developed a lovely patina from age. All beads intact and in wonderful condition. Probably made in the 1970’s – 80’s. Absolutely stunning statement necklace.
