Rare Vintage Navajo Silver Sweater / 1.7 Shawl Guard Clasp Turquoise Inlay Bears
This mysterious piece looks to possibly be designed to be a sweater guard or perhaps a shawl guard? The two bear pieces would fit through a large button hole on either side and hold a sweater or shawl closed. The large silver “buttons” at each end could also be sewn onto a piece. The turquoise inlay on the two buttons has been beautifully done. The sterling silver “buttons” measure 1 3/4 across and are nicely shaped and curved. The silver links to the chain are 3/4 across. This piece weighs 1.7 ounces or 47.5 grams. This piece is in great vintage condition. We guarantee all of our Native American Indian items to be AUTHENTIC American Indian traditional arts.
