Born Cipriano Quintana to renowned jewelers Terecita and Joe H. Quintana, Cippy Crazy Horse has carried on the classic traditional Pueblo designs his parents started. To these classic designs, Crazy Horse brings his personal style. Much of the thick gauge silver comes from melting scrap silver into ingots – a process the “old timers” incorporated. Crazyhorse says of his work, There are two traditional classic styles in silver jewelry, the Navajo and the Pueblo, and I do the latter; from cuff bracelets to concha belts, ranger sets, buckles and bead necklaces. You are looking at a wonderful rare vintage Native American handmade large, wide & bold sterling silver cuff. This rare highly collectible piece was handmade and signed by Cochiti artist Cippy Crazyhorse. The bracelets inside measurement from tip to tip is roughly 5 3/4″, the opening gap measurement between the tips is roughly 1 1/8″ and it weighs a heavy 112+ grams. Simplicio was well known for incorporating natural red coral branches distinctively into his jewelry. Simplicio was employed at C. Wallace’s trading post and worked with some of the most talented Zuni artists including Teddie Weahkee, Leekya Deyuse, Leo Poblano & Lee Edakkie. During his career, Dan Simplicio has created some of the most beautiful jewelry pieces out there & some of his pieces are currently displayed In museums across the country. His pieces are still rare to find and are highly collectible. You are looking at an important rare old Zuni Dan Simplicio handmade sterling silver blossom design cuff bracelet set with beautiful turquoise and red coral stones. For those of you familiar with Simplicios work, I’ll let the pictures explain all. Notice the gorgeous colors on the turquoise & coral stones and also Simplicios signature hand stamped silver leaf design appliqués across the band with. I added plenty of pictures including measurements for you to see. The cuff comes with a free watch. Watch i believe is 17 jewel automatic & appears to be ticking but that’s all I know about it (see pics). The cuffs inside measurement excluding the gap is roughly 5 3/4″ and the opening gap is roughly an additional 1 1/4+”. This piece weighs a solid 115 grams. Heavy Sterling & Turquoise Cuff Bracelet, J. This scarce bracelet is heavy guage, hand worked sterling silver by J. Quintana, Cochiti, New Mexico. The turquoise is hand finished and nice. This large bracelet fits my 7″ wrist very loosely, and the inside diameter measures 6 1/2″ plus a gap of 1 1/4. Total weight is 54.8 grams.
