I bought this beautiful necklace about 3-4 years ago. Talk about an investment piece of art!! This necklace is made as a reminder of the old depression era necklaces that were made of wood, battery parts, vinyl records and other imitation parts. Delbert has brought the past back to life with this incredible 23″ long plus 3″ extender double strand fine inlaid necklace. This listing features a vintage Native American handcrafted ring made of Sterling Silver and shell. If youre looking for a rare Native American statement piece then look no further!! This ring is rare with a classic Native American design. It dates back to the later-mid century with its rich patina and has a heavy weight of nearly 20 grams. The ring features an incredibly large shell set in a tall raised bezel. The bezeled shell has a high polished finish with beautiful color qualities of orangey-tans and spotted matrixes running throughout. The bezel, which is in excellent shape, hugs the sides of the shell perfectly with an extremely dark patina. The band is made from a thick and sturdy single shank. Its a very strong and solid band, in perfect round shape. The ring was very well made and taken care of over the years. More than likely, this piece was made by a member of the Kewa Santa Domingo tribe, or possibly Navajo. This ring is waiting to be cherished and enjoyed for now…. And handed down to loved ones later. This is a Rare and Fantastic Estate Fresh 10.75 tall. AVANYU WATER SERPENT WEDDING VASE made in Santa Clara New Mexico by the world famous, highly Collected and Prized Margaret Tafoya (1904 – 2001). It has really good wear on the bottom to support that ol age. It is great pottery work, and if you are going to have a Santa Clara Black Clay pottery piece, one may as well own one made by the BEST! Info on line about her is amazing. Margaret was born in 1904 and started her art of pottery making in 1920. Margaret Tafoya is considered one of the matriarchs of the Pueblo pottery revival known for her fine incised red and blackware as well as her large bear paw vases. She is the daughter of Hose Geronimo & Sarafina Tafoya; wife of Alcario Tafoya. Today her creations are recognized world-wide for their sublime beauty and expert artisanry. Those few pieces that remain out of collectors hands command top dollar in the collector’s market. This particular vase features the Avanyu Water Serpent around the circumference. Signature incised on bottom “Margaret Tafoya”. Truely a scarce gem and a highlight Star to oany collection. A black Santa Clara Pueblo storage jar, with a heavily incised kiva step pattern and Avanyu design, circa 1950, signed on the bottom by revered Pueblo pottery master. With intricately carved geometric designs and a burnished red surface, a redware jar produced by Ms. Margaret Tafoyas work has been the subject of several books and museum exhibitions over the years. She was awarded the National Endowment for the Arts Award in 1984, and a National Heritage Fellowship. Among the artists in profile at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
