RARE Punctate, Bi-Ridged Bannerstone Motley COA Kent Co, GA x- G. Cooper
This is a very rare bannerstone type, in excellent condition, that has a COA (Certificate of Authenticity) from a highly respected authenticator. It is a punctate, bi-ridged bannerstone that was found in Kent County, Georgia and was formerly in the collections of J. Tucker and Gilbert Cooper. I measure the bannerstone at 2 1/4 inches (L) by 2 1/4 inches (W) by 1 1/2 inches (height – from top ridge to bottom ridge). It is made from a brown-colored hardstone. One of the ridged sides has 4 punctates, each consisting of a circular depression containing a raised projection. One of the projections has minor ancient damage that hardly affects this rare artifact (see photo #1 – punctate at lower left). This bannerstone is certified as authentic by Karen and Roy Motley and is a no-brainer piece. I guarantee this bannerstone to be authentic and as described.
