Extremely Rare Double Sided Incised (Engraved) Stone Tablet Fragment, Malaga Cove California – COA. The incredible archaeological interpretation of the rare artifact engravings are related to astrological events; with additional interpretation that the Chumash used these objects to observe the solstices. These types of artifacts are known as “portable cosmos” which refer to the universe and are small enough to be carried versus large stone petroglyphs that are permanent structures. This artifact was part of a 1920’s private collection found at Malaga Cove California, prior to Archaeological excavation, of what is now known as archaeological site CA-LAN-138. This is a rare artifact from an early discovery of this site. (1) Double Sided Incised (Engraved) Stone Tablet Fragment, Guaranteed 100% Authentic. Engravings appear on both sides of the stone. Approximately 1,400 years old. This artifact is fragile, siltstone is a very light-weight stone type. Size: Small, Approximately 2-7/16 inch long x 1-2/16 inch wide. Attributed to Chumash Culture. Certificate of Authenticity and appraisal are included to guarantee buyers that the artifact is 100% authentic. Scientific testing, utilizing Infrared Laser Spectroscopy (ILS) and microscopic analysis was performed to confirm authenticity of the artifact, engravings and to establish a date time frame.
