This Native American stone was used to start fires. They would insert the stick into one of the holes on the rock, take their bow, wind the string around the stick, and work it back and forth until friction created and created a spark between the rock and the tinder. This rock is a rare find found in South Dakota’s fields. I got it from a state sale in Newell, SD, and the gentleman said that he had picked it up on one of his father’s fields. It is an incredibly rare find and would have been carried by Native Americans all throughout the plains.

The axe heads are authentic ancient Native American. I hand made the handle and the twine because I thought an axe head needs a handle and it was fun to do to. It’s Kind of like a work of art now but I’m sure it’s far beyond par from how they assembled them together back then. I made the twine from walnut bark and the handle is from a sycamore branch. Two different types of stone. Location is southeast Michigan near the river raisin massacre during the war of 1812. Macon reservation land as well as burial grounds for the Potawatomi in this area not the Pawnee, my bad on that sorry for the confusion the Potawatomi occupied this area they called themselves NeshnabĂ©, a cognate of the word Anishinaabe.

Museum worthy Discodial, game stone, mortar. I have not cleaned it. I used a horse hair brush and lightly dusted it and nothing more then that. There is something painted on the face up side. Moon cycles or star mapping. I honestly don’t know. Found in north Arkansas on white river private property. Property owners built a new home and resort on the side of bluff and hired me as a ground worker and care taker of 60+acres. I found it scooping up top soil in spring of 20014. This may be the best Discodial ever to be found. It’s definitely unique, eye catcher and center of attention always. Il try my best with pictures. Got any questions message me. I’m gunna sell at a really low price.
