This is a very interesting bracelet. It is the only time I came around one like this. The Yei, the Spirit is by himself fascinating. The artist treated the Yei the artistic way making him essential. The bracelet IS NOT a light superficial piece. On the contrary, it is substantial. The sterling silver is thick, the branches are 1/4″ rounded, the body of the Yei is a little bit over 1/4″ wide, triangular, classy! The turquoise has a 0.5 long base and the most beautiful pure color. The Yei is about the width of a wrist, 2″ long and 1.5″ wide, positioning himself naturally and perfectly on the wrist. This is the essential grounding piece. The bracelet was made by FELIX JOE, NAVAJO, a specialist of the Yei. In fact his Hallmark FJ is almost the same as the one from Frances Jones, the other specialist of the Yei. It weighs 23 grams. It measures 5 1/4″ + 1″ gap. It can be open or close, carefully, with measure.

Was born in 1948 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Growing up on a reservation, she went to Bureau of Indian Affairs schools before attending the University of New Mexico. She taught at the Navajo Community College in Arizona and is a professor of English at the University of Arizona, Tucson. Marmon has written short stories, poetry, plays and novels. Her books include Laguna Woman, Ceremony and Yellow Woman.

Measures just under 2.25 inches across at the widest points and about 2 inches long from the top of the bail to the bottom of the turquoise. The bail is small, under 1 cm and would not likely be able to be worn with silver Navajo pearls. I believe the turquoise is Kingman, with waterweb and birdseye features in the matrix. The reverse of the pendant is signed by Art Tafoya, a Yaqui Indian artist.
