Item: This listing is for a RARE original impression of the famous Walpi, Arizona, village where the Hopi tribe made their home around 900 AD. Jean Buchanan did a beautiful representation of the Hopi Spirit world beliefs, and her depiction of their truth in tradition clearly comes through her paint. This village is one of the few continuously inhabited areas of the United States. Vibrant color, clean and created in 1995. It is nicely secured in a wood frame with inlay cotton burlap trim. I believe it is in the encaustic method of painting. Mark: Jean Buchanan “Walpi Spirit”’95. Size: 22 wide x 30 high. Weight: 9 lbs packaged.
