Part of a Native American collection, though likely not made by Native Americans. Estate sales company hired an appraiser who considered her a Skookum doll. He said she was as rare as hen’s teeth. However, an eBayer says that in no way is this a Skookum doll or Native American. EBayer says this doll is not made by Native Americans, so opinions vary. I choose to play it safe and say not made by Native Americans, nor a Skookum. About 16 inches tall. Pinned up on back. I can’t find tears or holes. Hair is some sort of mohair. The face is similar material found on other skookum dolls. Unusual doll in Native American dress.

The late Leland Bell Original Paintings. Set of 2. Native American artist RARE
Set of 2 original paintings by the late Leland Bell. Very Rare to find his original paintings, most for sale are prints. Leland Bell was a Canadian Native American artist. His spirit name is Bebaminojmat, he is of the Loon Clan, and is a “second degree” member of the Three Fires Midewiwin society. Leland Bell’s wonderful paintings frequently use stylized human figures sharing the affinity of family or friends, often depicting imagery of nurturing, sharing, learning, peace and serenity. He was influenced in his youth through teachings, ceremonies, and art instruction at Cultural Arts Camps on Manitoulin Island, and it was there that his distinctive style first emerged. Leland has been painting professionally since 1976 and in addition to his painting devotes much of his creative energy to writing and music. He has collaborated often with Shirley Chee Choo and and her husband Blake Debassige on writing music for Shirley’s film projects. Bell has been part of Group Exhibitions in Ontario, British Columbia and Switzerland. He has had, literally, dozens of commissions, chiefly from organizations in Ontario.

This is a rare vintage necklace made by Native American artist signed Honie. The pendant features a beautiful bone carved horse with gold beads and intricate ink carved detailing of the horse. There is one gem red stone intact on the bridle but one is missing, please see photos. The beads are onyx and heavy. I was told the gold beads are at least gold plated but they don’t stick to a magnet. The style of the necklace is distinctly Native American and it is a unique piece of jewelry. Joan Hill, also known as “Chea-se-quah” (Red Bird) is a world renowned Native American artist from Muskogee, OKlahoma. She was born in 1930 of both Muscogee Creek and Cherokee heritage, and passed away in 2020. She was one of the most awarded Native American women artist in the 20th Century. It is rare to find any of her art prints for sale. This print is from the original oil painting titled “Baptism On The Trail” from 1991. The mat is signed Joan Hill (Chea-se-quah).

So most likely won’t fit a wrist much bigger than mine. The watch face is Mother of Pearl, I couldn’t get my camera to catch the pretty color wave with that. It will also need a NEW BATTERY. ?
