THREE LARGE HIGH TO GEM GRADE MORENCI “Slabs”; stones measure left c. 75″; center slab 2″ x 1 1/8″W; right slab 1.5″ x. 75 at widest points. The three terminal sterling silver cuff bracelet is rigid and can fit a 6.875 wrist actual measurements 5.5″ interior end to end with 1.375″ open gap= 6.875 Wrist Size and has a Center Setting Height of around 2. 3/8 and measures c. 3W across the front face. The Morenci turquoise mine produced a turquoise that is light to dark bright blue in hue. This stone has an unusual reddish brown matrix of irregular quartz and pyrite that, when polished, often resembles silver. Also, a small amount of Morenci turquoise had some brownish matrix called “Morenci red matrix” such as in this piece. One of the first American turquoises to come to the market was Morenci Turquoise. Morenci is highly valued and difficult to obtain because the Morenci mine in Southeast AZ is buried under tons of rock (permanently closed). This mine will never open again because the mine was leeched with chemicals that would have destroyed any remaining turquoise. This is one of the nicest Morenci Pieces I have ever owned. The stones are HUGE NATURAL SLAB CABOCHONS firmly set in strong heavy gauge straight edge sterling silver bezels; and so as not to take away from the stones, the artist showcased them by utilizing a simple twisted rope around each stone; and then flanked the sides with a thick link chain design and two incised leafs. Heavy Gauge Tri-Terminals were made to make this cuff virtually indestructible. Signed “Kee” on the Back. This fabulous cuff weighs a whopping 148.1grtw about 5.22oz.
