Rare Indian Native American Art Chief Eagle Bust Bronze Statue Sculpture Statue. This sculpture is in perfect condition. Bronze Dimensions with Marble Base: Height 14″ X Width 10″. Marble Dimensions: 7 1/2″ X 6″. Height without base: 10. Presenting an extraordinary bronze bust, this remarkable artwork depicts a Native American warrior chief with an awe-inspiring gaze that captivates the observer. Radiating spiritual fortitude, he embodies the untamed and resolute essence of his heritage. The warrior chief’s hair is adorned with braids intricately wrapped in strips of deer hide, accentuated by a lustrous turquoise patina. Flowing gracefully from the back of his hair, a long feather gracefully defies gravity, also finished with a captivating turquoise patina. Drawing attention to his chest, he proudly wears a bone breastplate, a popular ornament and symbol of prestige among warriors. The number of hair-pipe bones incorporated into the breastplate often signified the warrior’s wealth. Although occasionally worn in battle, these breastplates provided limited protection against arrows or bullets, primarily serving as decorative or ceremonial adornments. Meticulously crafted using the ancient technique of lost-wax casting, this sculpture beautifully captures the intricate details and textures, while the nuanced brown patina stain lends a lifelike quality to the chief’s skin tones, further perpetuating the authenticity of the piece. Enhancing its presentation, the chief is elegantly mounted upon a black marble plinth, lending a touch of sophistication and stability to the sculpture. The plinth proudly bears the signature of the esteemed artist Milo, symbolizing the artistry and quality synonymous with his name. This magnificent bronze bust pays homage to the noble spirit of Native American warriors, making it a captivating addition to any collection. Its exquisite craftsmanship and profound storytelling ability transport viewers to a realm of rich cultural heritage and timeless resilience. Virgin Islands, however, an additional charge may be required. New Detailed Hand Crafted Hot Cast Bronze Not Resin Satisfaction Guaranteed. This is Stock Photo, Slight Color Variation! Michigan and the Great Lakes region is believed to have been occupied and travelled by indigenous populations for over 10,000 years prior to European settlement. Census Bureau in 2019, Michigan is one of 10 states with the largest population of Native Americans. The Ottawa, Ojibway, Chippewa, Potawatomi and others have a significant place in Michigan’s history. It is one of a kind, featuring the craftsmanship of one of the few Michigan Native American quill artists. The natural resources needed to create a porcupine quill box are birch bark, quills, sweetgrass and the traditional knowledge. Birch bark can only be collected once a year, then it must be left to dry for approximately 6 months or longer. The preparation of quills was labor intensive and timely as well. The quills had to be cleaned, sorted and dyed prior to use. The use of porcupine quills in decorative boxes is a rare commodity as traditional knowledge is on the brink of extinction. Height: approx 1.75 inches. Width: approx 2.25 inches.
