Victor is regarded as among the greatest Hopi silversmiths. He is responsible for the texturized background in Hopi silversmithing. His teachers were Paul Saufkie and Fred Kabotie. This silver belt buckle (circa 1970) features a sleek modernist design. It is in excellent condition. Dimensions are 2 inches by 1.25 inches. It weighs 27.1 grams. The buckle will accept a 1 1/8 inch belt strap. It is hallmarked with Victor Coochwytewa’s Rain Cloud along with the Hopi Silvercraft Guild Sunface.
