Exceptional piece of mid-century native American Navajo craftsmanship. Huge blue turquoise measures 3 1/4″ wide and nearly 1 1/2″ long. Face measures 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″. Cuff opening measures 5 3/4″ from finished end to finished end, not including a 1″ nonadjustable gap. Wearable length is 6 3/4. And weighs 81 grams. Pictured on my wrist which is tiny! Huge Old Vintage Museum Quality Heavy Turquoise Slab Kachina Sterling Bolo Tie?? Listed for a short time part of my personal lifelong collection. This beautiful turquoise blue slab huge and heavy. Total weight is 153 g. Length of total bolo is 4 1/2 inches and 2 1/2 inches across at the widest point. Kachina which is hand made and sterling silver measures two and three-quarter inches long by 1 inch at its widest point. This piece is stick at a little less than a quarter inch. Back is clean with natural patina marked J and sterling underneath. Takes up a whole hand to hold. Leather is perfect, bolo is perfect with no chips, cracks, damage or repairs. Vintage Native American Royston Turquoise Sterling Silver Cuff Bracelet. Authentic Rare Royston Turquoise. Incredible Rare Piece of Exceptional Quality and Beauty. This early handmade Navajo bracelet is highly detailed and crafted with excellent quality. It features a large magnificent intense blue- green Royston Turquoise gem. The gem grade Turquoise has lovely golden brown spiderweb matrix aganist intense tones of blues and greens with a striking high polish finish. This is due to the hardness of rare natural Royston turquoise gems that can undergo a high polish finish. Thick hand applied rope twist surrounds the entire base of the smooth edge bezel in which the stone is set. Feather leaf blossoms and bold silver beads are applied around the entire top. The shank splits in four sturdy bars to safely support the large heavy artistic face setting. The Turquoise is smooth and polished with no cracks or chips. A striking and authentic early Native American bracelet of quality and beauty all around. Weighs 92.5 grams. Inner Circumerence of 5 1/4 inches with an extra 1 1/2 inch gap. (will adjust to most wrists). Face is about 3 inches long × 2 1/2 inches wide. Turquoise is 2 inches North to South × 1 3/4 inches East to West. Tested Positive for 925 Sterling Silver. In excellent vintage condition with lovely patina from age. Additional notes on this Gem. Royston Turquoise is one of the most highly sought after Turquoise. It is an extremely rare gem. A piece of Jewelry that features this wonderful stone as distinct with all of its characteristics as seen on this bracelet is a very rare find. Extraction process from online source. The Turquoise Miner most often finds Royston Turquoise in what looks like veins in the host rock (Ryolite), which has to be skillfully removed by many techniques. Miners Picks to heavy equipment and even dynamite are use to extract large rock with Turquoise veins. Once the bulk rock is extracted, Turquoise gemstone cutters saw the veins out of larger rocks called “saw rock” to refine the Turquoise into cutable slabs. There is quite a process to cut Royston Turquoise into gemstones such as the ones you see on this page. Note the shank has some wear, bents and scratches due to possible use and age, however is is still in shape and fits like a glove. RARE VINTAGE Handcrafted Salmon & Blush Pink Conch Shell Heishi & Rondelle Multi strand Necklace. Most likely Santo Domingo. Vintage: probably 1970’s to 1980’s. Necklace length: 31 Inches. Style: Boho & hippie. This gorgeous handcrafted beaded triple-strand necklace features slightly graduated strands that lay nicely nestled, light salmon tone conch shell with the most delicate blushing pink color. The conch shell beads are heishi & rondelle in shape. The piece is finished with sterling silver cone beads with hook clasp, not marked for sterling silver, however this is common with older pieces. The necklace is 31 long. Heishi (meaning “shell”) beads are small disc or tube-shaped beads made of shells or stones, traditionally cut, polished and drilled by hand. They originate with the Kewa Pueblo, previously known as the Pueblo of Santo Domingo, people of New Mexico. In Excellent Vintage Condition. The silver cone beads have developed a lovely patina from age. All beads intact and in wonderful condition. Probably made in the 1970’s – 80’s. Absolutely stunning statement necklace.
