Very Rare Whilkut Basket Hat
Here is a very rare treasure from a Native American tribe that was pushed to extinction by the 20th century. The Whilkut were a small tribe of Redwood Valley in the area of the Mad River watershed area and eventually merged with the Hoopa tribes. It is distinguished by full twist overlay technique of basket weaving in which the design on the outside of the basket is identical to the design on the inside. This hat is in mint condition.
