This wampum is approximately 4mm-8mm with a corresponding proportionate diameter requiring a small diameter needle/string. Please find these 50 bead purple and white strands tumbled and drilled for easy beautiful Jewelry making pieces. They are from a Native American Quahog shell used to make all sorts of high end earnings, bracelets, belts and necklaces. You can give them as completed jewelry pieces or give them as a group. One of the most prized and often used mollusks for wampum beads is the quahog clam (Mercenaria mercenaria). This clam, which lives in the coastal waters of the northeastern United States, has a distinctive shell that yields the purple beads. Most simply, wampum are beads made from various white and purple mollusk shells which were and are still used by various Native nations throughout northeastern North America for ornamental or ceremonial use. Wampum clearly had value though as a trade item between the various Native peoples before European contact. This is a wonderful early 1930s old Fred Harvey era sterling ring with old American vintage turquoise. Anyone that knows what to look for realizes this is the real deal. This is old silverwork with a true old stone with just a gorgeous antique appearance all over this gem! This ring and stone are the real deal and these beautiful authentic handmade pieces are getting harder to come by as they are being bought up, and the newer ones are massed produced any more these day. Unless you are having a top artist do the work you just cant hardly find them like this very often. This is no dinky ring, its a heavy 27 grams and is thick and tall. Its an 11.75 finger size. This nice patina turquoise cab is shadowboxed into this heavy sterling ring with old Navajo stamping on the ring shank. The ring was tufa stone cast and the setting and panels were then applied. The small corner crack looks like it happened long ago and the stone is perfectly stable! Two crossing arrows are part of the stamped shank. On the back of the ring is a shiny area where I had it tested for sterling. Other than that you can decide to clean or leave original patina. This would be a wonderful everyday wear to add to your collection. Looks even better in person! Acoma Poly Chrome Pot with Traditional Geometric Motif. Beverly is from the Acoma Pueblo. She has been creating hand coiled, traditional Acoma pottery for more than 40 years. She has passed that tradition on to her children, Katherine Victorino and Mervin Victorino, who are also well known for their skills as Acoma potters. She creates traditionally formed shapes and uses fine line and other traditional designs on her pottery. Garcia Jar has her signature symbol marked on the bottom. This extremely rare squash blossom contains 15 absolutely remarkable turquoise stones that appear to be from the outstanding Hachita turquoise which is a very rare New Mexico turquoise mine. Surrounding the stones are beautiful hand twisted silver coiled patterns. The largest stone measures around 3/4″ X 1/2″ and the naja pendant measures around 2-1/2″ X 2-3/4″. Resting throughout the entire necklace are amazing round silver beads with a traditional silver clasp. The naja consists of a beautiful rainbow patina. The length of the necklace measures around 34. O ffered is an exquisite and rare miniature California Pomo Indian Feather Basket from the early 20th Century. This little basket measures just under 1 1/4″ across and 1/2″ tall. Weaving is exquisite and the quail feathers are beautiful. A few have come off on one side or are attached in a way that shows the basket behind, but the basket displays beautifully despite this. Most of the items we sell come from our personal collection gathered over the years from our travels, from Native powwows and craft stores, antique shops, auctions and estate sales. Now that our kids are in college and beyond, we are letting some items go so others can enjoy them. Then I’ll send you a combined invoice. Sorry for the expense, but I’ve had items lost overseas when mailing first class and don’t want to take the risk of losing items.
