We shall make the reader acquainted with their mode of living, habits, occupations, and pursuits, and relate many incidents of their history. We shall commence with notices of the early discoveries and conquests of the Spaniards, Portuguese, English, and French adventurers, who formed settlements on different parts of the continent, and on the islands of the West Indies. Our young readers will thus understand how it happened that the whole continent, with the exception of certain wild regions in the interior, has been wrested from the possession of the aboriginal inhabitants, and converted into settlements inhabited by Europeans and their descendants, while the Indians of America have been driven into the woods and deserts, and whole nations and tribes of them utterly exterminated. Balboa Discovering the Pacific. Cabral taking possession of Brazil. Captain Smith a Prisoner. Captain Smith and Pocahontas. Destruction of the Pequot Indians. Battle of the Monongahela. Eliot preaching to the Indians. Trading with the Indians. Fishing with the Spear. There may be slight variations in foxing/toning, etc. Remember folks, this is an 1850 original. This book is 171 years old. Please be sure to add me to your List of Favorite Sellers. Don’t miss out on any of my latest listings. NEETMOK BOOKS IS A REGISTERED MEMBER OF EBAYS VERO PROGRAM. Rare Tiny California Pomo Indian Feather Basket Native American Miniature 3
Offered is our third Native American/First Nation Indian Basket Miniature this week. This is a fine and tiny California Pomo Indian Feather Basket. This lovely little basket measures approx. 1″ across by 1/2″ tall. Exquisite weaving by a master Pomo basketmaker, but I didn’t get the name of the weaver. You can see a few gaps, but this does not seem to be shedding feathers as often is the case in these baskets. We’re offering items on both Saturday and Sunday for the next week. A note: We’re all healthy here and are isolated and washing hands regularly. If you’re worried just leave your packages in a garage or porch area for a few days before opening. Thanks and be well. Most of the items we sell come from our personal collection gathered over the years from our travels, from Native powwows and craft stores, antique shops, auctions and estate sales. Now that our kids are in college and beyond, we are letting some items go so others can enjoy them. Then I’ll send you a combined invoice. Sorry for the expense, but I’ve had items lost overseas when mailing first class and don’t want to take the risk of losing items. I pack carefully and try to reuse materials to save on environmental impact. I often double-box items with smaller gift boxes collected from various thrift stores. I reuse all that I receive and hope you will make use of the ones that come in your packages. The item “Rare Tiny California Pomo Indian Feather Basket Native American Miniature 3″ is in sale since Sunday, April 26, 2020. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Cultures & Ethnicities\Native American\ US\1800-1934\Baskets”. The seller is “bokhandlar” and is located in Iowa City, Iowa. Shona Hah Lelooska Native American Hand Carved Doll 1930-70 rare miniature 4.5
Shona-Hah Lelooska Native American Hand Carved Doll. It has a Chilcat blanket wrapped around it’s shoulders. I think this is representing a Haida elder. Her dolls are cultually significant. Her dolls are normally larger than this. The others I have seen are normally around 12 tall. This one is 4.5. Shona-Hah is the matriarch of the Lelooska family. She is mother to Chief Don Lelooska, Patty Fawn and Tsungani. Don was a prominent member of the tribe and was a storyteller. Many children in Northwest remember taking trips to see him and the stories he would tell and traditions he kept alive. Patty Fawn is known for her jewelry that she creates. Her dolls are highly valued and collected by private collectors and museums. Her dolls were often a collaboration with her son Chief Don Lelooska. Chief Lelooska would often help Shona Hah carve the heads and hands of her dolls. He was a highly respected artist in his own right whose carvings are highly regarded among museums and collectors. The costumes that the dolls wear are handmade by her. This could be really rare because her dolls are normally much larger. The item “Shona Hah Lelooska Native American Hand Carved Doll 1930-70 rare miniature 4.5″ is in sale since Tuesday, February 11, 2020. O ffered is an exquisite and rare miniature California Pomo Indian Feather Basket from the early 20th Century. This little basket measures just under 1 1/4″ across and 1/2″ tall.
