This listing is for a vintage Zuni hand made belt buckle, made of solid sterling silver and turquoise. This is a very rare belt buckle being made with TONS of petite point turquoise stones. It was made with a very thick and hearty slab of silver that measures 3 wide by 2 tall. Every single stone is in MINT condition. The Artist arranged the stones in alternating rows, where they lay horizontal and vertical. With their bright blue/green color hues and very light matrixes, they pop out of their sawtooth bezels ever so slightly. Below the stones the silver has tarnished and created a lovely patina making the stones pop even more. Its a simple design yet, looks like it was very tedious work. To finish the design the outer edge of the buckle was adorned with silver droplets between each row of stones. This buckle is older dating back to the later mid-century (70s-80s). Although its a vintage piece it has a very modernized look. This is a very special piece that is not only a work of Art but also a tangible asset. And pass it down to a loved one in the future. Weight – 81.5 Grams. Width (East to West) – 3. Height (North to South) – 2. Belt keeper inside width – 1-1/2. Total number of stones – 140 total stones, 8 rows of horizontal stones with 10 each and 3 rows of vertical stones with 20 each. Stones measure – 1/4 long, the stones and their bezels sit on top of the buckle at 1/8 high. Stamped sterling – NO, tested and verified. Signed by Artist – NO. Mid to later mid century, late 1960s – early 1980s. I treat every item as if it were my own. Extra bubble wrap and packing materials are used to ensure a safe arrival to its new owner.
