This listing features a gorgeous belt buckle made by Navajo Artist, Nelson Lee. It was made with solid sterling silver, Turquoise, and Mother of Pearl. This expertly handcrafted buckle is a stunning piece of work. A beautiful array of large turquoise stones sit flush, between silver channels, over a smooth oval buckle made of solid sterling silver. They have beautiful shades of blue green along with light and tan matrixes running throughout. Round inlays of mother of pearl rest on each side of the face with their classic iridescent sheen and look as if being overlapped by the turquoise. The Artist didnt leave 1 square centimeter of this buckle untouched by his talent….. Truly a stunning piece of work by Nelson Lee. The swivel belt keeper and hook located on the back is in mint condition. The swivel pins holding the belt keeper are actually made with silver and not brass…. Typically pieces of this nature have brass pins, but not this one!! The Artists signature is also deeply stamped in the center. Please note: There is some tarnishing on the sterling which is to be expected on pre-owned sterling. Genuine NATURAL Turquoise from the MORENCI mine in Arizona. Absolutely GORGEOUS turquoise stones – intense brilliant MORENCI blue with interesting black matrix. Stones have an interesting “rustic lumpy bumpy” texture from nature. This turquoise was mined back in the 1950’s when you could still get HIGH GEM QUALITY turquoise. 25 clasp to clasp. Suitable for most male/female necklines. IMPORTANT: THIS IS HUGE & EXTREMELY HEAVY. Rare Vintage Turquoise Sterling Silver Handcraft Squash Blossom Station Necklace

I bought this necklace from the original owner, and have yet to wear it. She estimated it to have been made in the 1980’s. Although, given the RARE completely handmade silver beads used throughout this necklacee, it could have been created anywhere between the 1970’s – 1990’s. It is a true vintage Native American necklace. The original owner was told it is a Royston turquoise piece, which means, this is likely RARE, old mined Royston, with a deeper color, and characteristic color mix. It is predominantly green turquoise with some blue, and a rich, warm brown matrix. As is common with vintage works, it has no signature, but has been acid tested throughout, and is solid sterling silver. It does have the number “85” etched on the back side of the center piece, which could indicate the year it was made/completed. This piece has 2 full strands of beautiful, RARE, ENTIRELY handcraft Navajo pearls, with middle solder seams, and the genre correct hook and eye clasp. It is strung on the characteristic silver foxtail – a special type of braided cord unique to Native American squash blossom and station necklaces. Total necklace length is 20 plus another half inch for the clasp. Center stone piece is 1.5″ tall by 1.25″ wide. Stones are graduated, and decrease in size as you move toward the ends of the necklace, the smallest ones measuring 1″x1″. There are 7 turquoise cabochons set in thicker guage silver. The total weight is 114.8 grams. Please message any questions. I’ve done my very best to present this piece accurately.
