This is a RARE piece by Lonn, he is famous for his asymmetrical inlay work mostly of bracelets, so it is hard to find his Overlay Pendants like this…… HOPI STYLE OVERLAY, is where the artisan solders 2 sheets of sterling silver together after cutting out the designed sheet that will go on top, like this one, the Thunderbird was hand cut out then soldered onto the bottom flat sheet, then it was slightly domed and the top surface has a nice Matt Finish so the design stand out real nice. This Overlay work is well known within the Hopi artisans community…. It is signed ” Lonn Parker ” by the Navajo artisan..
