Antique HTF Native American-Handmade Ladderback Cowhide Chair Mid-1800s Rare. From my research, it is most likely Choctaw, a Native American Tribe, who were located in eastern Texas and the western part of Louisiana. Beautiful antique chair with a great patina, featuring chippy paint and original cowhide seat. H 33.5″ x W 18″ x L 13. The chair is very sturdy, although it is missing one of the cross-bars in the front. It’s probably best only used decoratively, and not for seating to keep it in the great condition it is in. At some point in its history, the cowhide ties underneath, were replaced with rope, but it is not noticeable when the chair is upright. Please note: The photos are a part of the description.
