Old Navajo Sterling Saucer Bead Necklace 24 90g? Rare Stamp Design Original A+. Nice strand of Native American hand stamped sterling silver rounded saucer beads. Wonderful shape on these beads which are approximately 8.5 mm. Not huge beads but not small. Great design with the famous crown stamp on each bead which I have only had the pleasure of owning one strand previously. Even these cones are handmade. These beads stack nicely and have a good movement, they are easy to wear and have a total weight of 90.1 g. All beads are in perfect condition and all are stamped, if you are stamped lighter than the rest which gives us a definite handmade feeling. There is one small ding in one of the Sterling cones. Total necklace has a wearable length of 24 inches. Strung on strong foxtail chain with no slack or looseness. Measurement: Ring size is about an 8 as measured with my tapered jewelers mandrel. The face of this ring measures 3/4″ x 1/2″. Weight: 8.8 grams. Hallmarks/Stamp : Stamped JJG, but I was unable to identify maker. Condition: Quite good – no damage – setting is tight. Comments: I have only once seen a photo of another ring similar to this (same materials with four dots of jet instead of a diamond), it was on a FB post recently from one of the Native American jewelry groups I belong to. Anyway, I speculate that this may have been a privately commissioned ring for an individual. Great looking side panels and twisted wire accents. (all measurement are approximate). Mayes “Leaf” Belt Buckle. This wonderful Belt Buckle was made by the famous and talented Zuni artist Jobeth D. She started producing jewelry in 1971. She is most famous for his this very design in her jewelry. As a noted Zuni artist, her work is featured in several high end galleries and collections in all the major Native Jewelry catalogs and reference books. Jobeth became famous in an odd way in 2002 when her jewelry was featured on models in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. This is etch signed with her correct hallmark “Mary Jobeth Mayes Zuni (with a hand drawn cornstalk)”. Her hand etched signature and the corn stalk is very charming for me and I believe that it is unique in its presentation. There are some artist hallmark stamps that I like to look at, but seeing her signature and the related artistic design surrounding it always a treat! It is guaranteed to be Sterling Silver and authentic. I have found no defects like cracked or loose stones, noteworthy scratches, etc. It has a light tarnish. This may have come from a collection or may have just been used lightly. I don’t believe that Jobeth has made jewelry in many years, so a buckle in this condition is a great find. Over the years, I have never encountered one of her buckles with a “Leaf Theme”, I believe it to be very rare… For both of us! I believe that you will be pleased! The workmanship is exceptional and fine. It features a channel inlay pattern of 10 Turquoise stones along the top and bottom as well as 10 hand cut Turquoise rounds paced in the center field along with 10 Sterling Silver imperfect “water drops” that give it visual depth! This is a highly prized and iconic Jobeth Mayes museum quality piece. This amazing Buckle is full of character and may be recognized by many people. RARE Native American Indian Navajo necklace, by the late PHIL LORETTO. Sterling Silver necklace with Cain dangles & micro mosaic inlay work; Stones consisting of Turquoise, Coral, Mother of Pearl, Lapis, Jet and Opal, with handmade chain, beads and hook closure. Phils signature marking is on the back center inlaid piece and on the back end beads (see photos). The necklace is in good used condition: there are no missing inlaid pieces.
