Sterling Silver Navajo Concho Earrings By Andy Cadman Rare Gem Kingman Turquoise
Andy Cadman is a Navajo silversmith he has been creating fine Native American jewelry for over 20 years. He is the brother of Darrell Cadman, Gary and Daniel “Sunshine” Reeves, and David Reeves. Andy learned to silversmith from his brothers Daniel and David Reeves. Andy creates one of a kind and very intricately hand stamped pieces of Native American jewelry. Like his brothers work, most of his creations are fully covered in beautiful traditional Navajo deep stamp work. This process is both time consuming and labor intensive, making each piece a true one of a kind work of art. His creations are usually very bold, as he uses a thick gauge of sterling silver for his works, and beautiful natural turquoise stones. Handmade by Navajo silversmith Andy Cadman. This is a pair of sterling silver handmade Navajo post back dangle earrings. Each concho style earring has one natural gem grade Kingman Turquoise stone. The turquoise is a beautiful blue color with a black spiderweb matrix. Each gem sits in a smooth bezel. The posts are a big star stamped repousse bumpout. These concho style earrings are covered in deep Navajo stamp work. Andy finished these earrings with a dark oxidation. The silver work is beautiful and done in traditional Cadman style. These earrings measure 2-1/4 inch long from top to bottom by 1-3/8 inch wide. The stones measure 7/16 inch by 5/16 inch. The free listing tool. NOTE: THE COLOR OF THE STONES IN THIS JEWELRY COULD BE SLIGHTLY LIGHTER OR DARKER THAN THE PICTURES SHOW, DUE TO THE FLASH REQUIRED TO GET THE PICTURES. IF THIS IS GOING TO BE AN ISSUE, ASK QUESTIONS IN ADVANCE. PLEASE READ : THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF CONFUSION AS TO SOME OF THE PROPER TERMS USED IN MY AUCTIONS. DEAD PAWN : “DEAD PAWN” SIMPLY MEANS AN ITEM THAT WAS PAWNED FOR CASH BUT HAS NEVER BEEN REDEEMED, A COMMON PRACTICE IN THE SOUTHWEST, AND OFTEN REFERRING TO AMERICAN INDIAN JEWELRY. THIS DEFINITION IS DIRECTLY FROM GOOGLE! THIS DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THE ITEM IS OLD, IT WAS SIMPLY AN ITEM THAT WAS PAWNED AND NOT REDEEMED. THIS PRACTICE IS STILL IN USE TODAY WITH NATIVE AMERICANS OR NATIVE AMERICAN JEWELRY OWNERS AND PAWN SHOPS. OLD PAWN OR OLD DEAD PAWN : “OLD PAWN” OR “OLD DEAD PAWN” IS THE MOST HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE AMERICAN INDIAN JEWELRY. IT IS THE OLD JEWELRY THAT WAS PAWNED AND NOT REDEEMED. JEWELRY MADE FROM AS EARLY AS THE 1920’S TO THE 1970’S OR 1980’S. IF THE WORD “OLD” SHOWS UP WITH “DEAD PAWN” IN MY DESCRIPTION OR IN THE TITLE, THEN YOU CAN BE ASSURED THE ITEM IS FROM THE 1980’S OR OLDER. SOMETIMES IT IS HARD TO TELL, AND I USUALLY GET A 2ND AND SOMETIMES A 3RD OPINION FROM JEWELERS OR OTHER PROFESSIONALS AS TO THE AGE OF THE ITEM. IF THE WORD “DEAD PAWN” SHOWS UP IN THE TITLE OR IN THE DESCRIPTION, THE ITEM IS GUARANTEED TO BE DEAD PAWN BUT NOT NECESSARILY AN OLD ITEM.
