This beauty boasts a WHOPPING 514 meticulously set HAND CUT SNAKE EYE TURQUOISE cabs that are expertly set into sawtooth bezel settings. The Snake Eye Beads are honestly BREATHTAKINGI know its difficult to see all of the EXTENSIVE Detail in Photos- (plus the beads are so large they almost cast a shadow in he Photos), but you can instantly tell they are NOT machine made!! All 514 of these tiny sky stone beauties were individually HAND CUT, I urge you to enlarge the photos, & see this- as it is SPECTACULAR!! ALL Hand Cut, all varying in size in shape a bit- as well as a soft variation of COLOR!! GORGEOUS Handmade HEAVY Navajo Pearl Beads adorn this Necklace, graduating in size, and ALL are HAND STAMPED except for 1 on each end by the Sterling Cones that were added for comfort. The Stamped Navajo Pearl Beads all vary in size & shaped, another clear indication of being individually handmade. I cannot even fathom the time & work that went into making this Necklace- from the Cutting of all the Turquoise, to the precision setting of the 514 TINY stones, to the making of the numerous Handmade Stamped Navajo Pearls!!!! Just Enlarge all photos and look closely at this SUPER RARE beauty! Its definitely a once in a lifetime find! Although the stone work immediately appeared Zuni to me, it had HAND MADE Beads that traditionally appeared more Navajo. To try to get more info on this piece, I reached out to Perry Null in Gallup for assistance, (as they are the leaders in QUALITY Native American Jewelry and have been since 1939), so extremely knowledgeable in both Older and Newer pieces! They told me that usually work that appears both Zuni AND Navajo is a Collaboration piece. They also stated that they had seen COLLABORATION pieces by Zuni Artist Virginia Quam & Navajo Artist Melvin Francis, but NOTHING exactly like THIS one. THIS Necklace is MUCH Older, MUCH Larger, and a different style than the one they spoke of, so I still do not know the name of the artist… Its definitely a TRUE Treasure though, and most definitely NOT commonly seen- and whether you EVER find out WHO made it- the fact remains that it is RARE, nothing like it available ANYWHERE that I have seen available recently OR in the past. Hard to grasp just how GORGEOUS the abundance of hand cut stones are- the Turquoise is predominantly various tones of a GORGEOUS Blue, and a few have slight Blue-Green Undertones. The Handmade STAMPED NAVAJO PEARL Beads are quite LARGE and I LOVE the fact that they vary in size from being handmade. They are made with a Heavier Gauge of Sterling than typically seen in beads, as well. Everything is strung on flexible Chain with comfy cone ends and Traditional Hook & Eye Clasp. It is a generous Length of approx. 25, (a virtually unheard of for most Zuni pieces), but could EASILY be Lengthened with an extender, if desired. FLEXIBLE & BEAUTIFUL the way it hugs your curves, lays perfectly against you!! Each of the 514 HAND CUT cabochons are expertly & securely set into Saw Tooth Bezel settings, with 5 Rows of elaborate Sterling Twist on EACH of the 9 Turquoise Beads. The Turquoise Beads have NAVAJO PEARL BEADS visible on each end, some with a STAMPED DESGN. This phenomenal Necklace is quite substantial with the MASSIVE Zuni Beads with over 500 settings, and numerous heavy Navajo Pearl beads accounting for its massive weight of 5.8 oz /164 gm! This substantial beauty is not for the faint of heart, but rather the lady who loves Old Handmade Native American pieces that are not only RARE, but Large Eye-Catching pieces of the highest Quality!!
