VINTAGE RARE Nevada Blue GEM Turquoise FRED Harvey NAVAJO Sterling Cuff 1930. Interested in more than one item? Most of our items are Unique One-of-a-Kind and subject to availability. So we do not disappoint you with a possible out of stock item. Don’t wait we sell more Vintage Jewelry than any other Jewelry Because it is getting harder to find they stopped making it 80+ years ago! Vintage jewelry is a great way to own a small piece of history. Featuring more traditional techniques and a dark silver patina, vintage jewelry is very collectible. The age of our vintage jewelry usually ranges from the 1920’s to 1970’s, though some pieces may be older or newer. Prior to the 1960’s, artists rarely signed their jewelry- therefore most vintage pieces are unattributed unless the original owner kept records. Most of our vintage jewelry is acquired from private collections and we feel honored to pass on these treasured pieces to new owners. We recommend leaving the patina on old jewelry, as polishing can diminish the value. This is a Fred Harvey Era VERY Nevada Blue GEM Turquoise. Bracelet, Circa 1930’s from my personal collection! This old Navajo row bracelet with 3 rectangular natural Blue Gem stones is just lovely. Blue Gem has always had a special appeal with our clients, and you can see why when you look at the pretty color of the turquoise. This piece in our bracelet treasures collection measures 5 7/8″ inside with a 1″ opening and a width of 1/2. It is unsigned and dates circa 1930’s. Fits a wrist size 5 to 6.5 cuff is somewhat flexible. This Handmade cuff will become one of your favorites and is sure to become a treasured family heirloom for generations. The quality of this turquoise is second to none! One of a Kind! This is a Classic PIECE FROM DAYS GONE BY. A great-looking, extremely wearable piece from a fascinating and romantic period of Southwestern history, this bracelet was likely first acquired by a traveler on the Santa Fe railroad from a Fred Harvey Company trading post such as the Indian Room at Albuquerques Alvarado Hotel or The Hopi House at the Grand Canyon. As with Vintage Native American Pieces, some pieces may Exhibit Test Mark(s), Patina, Scratches, and Minor Dings from the Years in and out of Pawn Shops and Personal Collections. Words alone are not enough describe this extraordinary cuff so please take a look at the pictures to get a feel for this magnificent valuable masterpiece of Native American Indian craftsmanship. Fred Harvey Style (1900 1955). You will often see the term Fred Harvey era in many jewelry descriptions. There are estimated to be three distinct periods in the Fred Harvey era of dating jewelry and other Native American art objects. Others may have their own breakdown of these time periods. Early Fred Harvey era: Late 1800s 1910s [rare]. Mid Fred Harvey era: 1910s 1930s. Late Fred Harvey era: 1940s 1970s. Even so, it continued to be produced until the mid-1940s or 1950s. The Bell Trading Co. Continued on until the 1970s. Fred Harvey [1835 1901] was a prominent 19th century Native American curios entrepreneur, business man, hotel and restauranteur who fairly singlehandedly established the emerging 20th century American tourist fascination with traveling to the great American southwest and exploring the culture of Native Americans and their legacy of Native arts, jewelry and crafts. Instead of referring to the tourist jewelry from the era as Fred Harvey jewelry, it has been suggested that railroad jewelry would have been more appropriate as Harvey entered into an ingenious contract with the Santa Fe Railroad to provide a series of luxurious new eating houses along the new rail routes which were quickly crisscrossing the American southwest. Once Indian jewelers and traders realized the Anglo preference, they began catering to the Anglo tourist’s tastes by producing a full line of lightweight jewelry, much of it mass-produced with the help of specialized machinery and commercial sheet silver. There were also numerous silversmiths who insisted on making everything by hand: pounding, cutting, stamping etc. In addition to the consideration of weight, various design elements or symbols were decided upon as standard designs that would decorate most products – the Thunderbird, the arrows (crossed arrows or single arrows), the four-directions symbol, lightning zigzags, arrowheads, etc. It was perceived that these were the symbols that most tourists had in mind as belonging to the Indian realm, and consequently, many Indian jewelers would keep to the use of these symbols instead of adding their own personal touch or incorporating other aesthetics. Today, Fred Harvey era jewelry is Highly Collectible and highly sought after. Easy to wear, and generally with a fair amount of ornamentation/stamping, Fred Harvey jewelry is an enjoyable genre of Indian jewelry that takes us back 100 years and can leave us in awe! Nevada Blue Diamond Turquoise. A Rare deep blue Turquoise producing mine in Nevada, Blue Diamond was mined mostly in the 50s and 60s. The Blue Diamond Turquoise mine is hard deposit to reach and has several different diggings. It is dark blue with a black matrix of dendrites and triangle shaped black chert. Another common look of Blue Diamond Turquoise is dark blue with smoky black matrix. The blue a lot of times is a swirling of two dark blues.. It is stunning This is a classic American Turquoise Look. Named for producing some of the hardest turquoise ever found, the Blue Diamond mine is located outside of Austin, Nevada and was first mined in the 1930s. The mine is considered a hat mine of which there are very few. A hat mine is a small deposit of turquoise that you can cover with your hat. PLEASE ADD ME TO YOUR FAVORITE SELLERS LIST AND REMEMBER TO CHECK OUT MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR NEW FUN FINDS WEEKLY! Done in the classic southwestern style featuring six multi shape sterling stations and center concho pendant this beautifully unique necklace approximately weighs 114.2 grams. It measures 21″ long including 4″ extender chain by 1/2 at its widest points. The center sterling concho pendant measures 2 1/4″ long by 1 1/2″ wide. The sterling station charms measure between 1 1/8″ – 1 3/8″ long. It’s signed and hallmarked on the back of each of the sterling stations and center pendants. They’re signed CR 925 CP. This fine estate find is in good previously owned used condition. All gemstones are intact and present. It’s due for a cleaning. The two red coral beads on either side of the center sterling concho pendant have natural inclusions which can be seen in the pics section. I’ve seen this necklace before and all had the same type of natural inclusions on those two red coral beads which my local jeweler suggested was part of the design. It has normal vintage surface wear for its age and use. The clasp mechanism is in good working order. This beautiful Carolyn Pollack Relios Tesoro sterling pendant station multi bead necklace will make a fabulous addition to you or your loved ones fine jewelry collection! Offers not accepted the first week an item is listed or if recently reduced. I can only get out of work and make it to the post office before it closes once a week. I usually go either Monday or Tuesday. If you pay after Monday your package won’t be able to be sent to you until the next Monday or Tuesday that I can make it to the post office before closing. The majority of my items are from local estate sales and auctions. I do not clean or polish any of the items as to not damage them or remove the patina. Although since in my possession items I sell have been stored in clean bags, there may be odors, (smoke, perfume and/or musty) pet hairs, makeup, glue residue, dust, etc on the pieces or their boxes from the previous owners. Boxes may have wear and tear, writing etc from previous owners. Most of the time I have no knowledge of the previous owners or history of the pieces. I try to include any available history if possible. All measurements are approximate. The majority of my items (primarily fine, vintage, previously owned used and costume jewelry) have either been professionally appraised and documented or professionally evaluated for authentication and condition. Antique, previously owned used or vintage items should be expected to have surface wear Light to medium scratches, brushes, a few flea bites or hairlines most would need a loop to see or notice, sizing wear, minor indentations and or minor vermeil/enamel loss, brooch/pin/earring post bars or hooks may not be perfectly straight. Which is “normal” for their age and use. Earrings may not come with any or have original backings. Gemstones may have natural inclusions. These veins and areas are not damage but normally found through and are part of the natural gemstones. Not all pendants have bails that open in the back. If they do have the opening back feature they will be described as a “pendant enhancer”. If they do not have a bail that opens they will be described as a “pendant”. I make sure to note if there are any major faults found and recorded by my local jeweler. Occasionally I will make an error or typo in my listing. Remember to check out my other auctions. I try to add new fun finds weekly. Please add me to your favorite sellers list and happy shopping!
