It is my understanding that, sadly, Edward died from the COVID INFLUENZA in 2021. These EDWARD A LEEKITY sets are very rare. Nearly impossible to find them and when you do they are missing their earrings. This SET still has it’s original earrings from Edward and tragically he will be not making anymore. ZUNI Native American Indian HUMMINGBIRD Squash Blossom Necklace and earrings set. Although this does not have the typical “squash blossoms” it is considered that style/type of necklace by some collectors. Meticulously Handmade by Zuni Indian artist EDWARD A LEEKITY (deceased: 2021) please see photos for artist’s personal hallmark E. 94 (this is believed to be crafted in 1994 since Edward hallmarked his pieces with the year he created them). BEAUTIFUL, PAINSTAKINGLY ALL HANDMADE. Absolutely gorgeous in person. Please very carefully study all the inlay and hand-carving. I have seen many other Edward A. Leekity hummingbird necklace and earrings sets, thru the years, and this is by FAR the most intricate, ornate and BIGGEST I’ve ever seen. Truly an extremely very rare treasure and absolutely PRISTINE. Genuine NATURAL turquoise stones, creamy white mother-of-pearl seashell stones, black onyx and abalone seashell stones. No damaged stones, no cracked stones, no missing stones. LARGE FULL SIZE NECKLACE : 31 clasp to clasp (biggest Edward necklace I have ever seen). Matching earrings for pierced ears. Fortunately this still has it’s matching earrings. I believe this must have been in a collection and never used. This truly is one of those EXTREMELY RARE pieces that belong in a Native American Indian Zuni tribe/nation museum. Item: MB – UNA. RARE Native American Zuni BIRD Cuff Bracelet Unmarked Sterling Silver Vintage????? This piece is a vintage work of art and its big. First let’s get the flaws out of the way. It has some missing turquoise inlay in two separate areas. I pointed both out in the picture for your reference. One spot has some discoloration on the mother of pearl. Otherwise the inlay is in good vintage condition. This piece has great patina. It’s definitely an older piece as you can see by the craftsmanship. It weights a whopping 103.98 grams. The face of the bird measures 3″ tall and 3″ wide. As you see it covers a large part of my arm. The opening is 1 1/2″ wide and the interior is 2 1/2″ across. The piece has very little flex, the solid sterling doesn’t have much give to adjust. Very rare unusual piece. We sell used or new vintage/antique items. We are not experts on anything.
