Native American Zuni Hummingbird Necklace Sterling Thomasine Shack RARE OLD

Up for sale I have a truly one of a kind necklace, crafted by Zuni Native Thomasine Shack. This gorgeous necklace is absolutely flawless, it has been in hiding for about 30-40 years. This rare, rare rare piece is a whopping 30″ long, the medallion is 4″including the hand forged tassels and 3 1/8″ across, the two smaller hummers on each side are 1 1/8″ long and 1 1/2 wide, at the widest point. The medallion is about 1/4 deep. The intricate silver work is very remarkable, encasing the beautiful medallion and the hummingbird. The chain is hand forged as well as the hook. Notice how the chain is soddered to the medallion, all hand made, to last a lifetime. Thomasine Shacks jewelry rarely comes up for sale, is HIGHLY sought after by collectors and museums alike. The workmanship is classic Shack, simply flawless. Thomasine passed on her craft to her son Bobby and you can really tell she taught him well, as his and Corraines jewelry also command a high price, as well they should, no corner cutting just beautiful high end Native American jewelry. RARE Native American Carved Amber Zuni Fetish 3 Strand Hummingbird Necklace

C e l es ti a l N o n e s u ch. A rare, antique, three strand, carved Amber Zuni Hummingbird fetish necklace, with heishe shell beads. I have only found one piece such as this and it was attributed to Zuni artisan Lena Boone. This piece has unmarked silver (tested) cone ends and clasp. I believe with the unmarked silver this piece dates to pre 1930. I have counted 63 hummingbirds total on this piece. The Amber bird beads face to the center on either side of this necklace. Two large birds have three strands running through them. There is a large carved Amber hummingbird as the center pendant, facing directly up. The luscious Amber ranges widely in color and transparency. It is really difficult to capture the beauty of this piece in words. The Amber is carved so finely and delicately, combined with the inherent fiery and warm nature of Amber, creates a visual effect like that of glistening honey. This piece is truly exceptional, the Amber exudes a warmth upon the skin. This piece exhibits signs of age, such as a deep patination of the silver hardware, as well as surface wear and weathering to the beads. There are several hummingbirds that have a bit of damage on them such as missing a bit of tail. Overall this piece is in very nice condition.
