Have owned this canteen for more than 30 year’s. It is exactly as the day I bought it I never cleaned it as I didn’t want to mess the original patina up. I leave any cleaning up to the new owner. It’s from an estate sale in the. This exquisite antique metal and Rawhide Stitched canteen said to have been used in the revolutionary war in that area of Virginia. 8″ Diameter 3 1/2″ wide. Great shape for it’s age. This rare find is a must-have for collectors of rustic antiquities, and makes it an ideal addition to any home decor. This is a vintage and rare late 19th/early 20th Centuries sculpture of a gorgeous Native Afro African American woman, manufactured in the New York, United States during the 1950s by MARWAL. The sculpture represents African culture and is 12 inches tall. A must have rare piece! History of Artist: Marwal Ind Inc was founded in Brooklyn, NY, around the mid-1960s, by Romanian immigrant Marcel Walters. Walters used the first syllables of his first and last names, to name his company. Marwal produced chalkware figurines and statues that were made with Hydrastone, which was a mixture of plaster of Paris and gypsum. Please see pictures in detail noting some paint and very minor loss of area.

Not plastic or ceramic. The feet are metal with leather attached to the bottom and hand-painted on the top. The woman has a papoose on her back.
