Joan Hill, also known as “Chea-se-quah” (Red Bird) is a world renowned Native American artist from Muskogee, OKlahoma. She was born in 1930 of both Muscogee Creek and Cherokee heritage, and passed away in 2020. She was one of the most awarded Native American women artist in the 20th Century. It is rare to find any of her art prints for sale. This print is from the original oil painting titled “Baptism On The Trail” from 1991. The mat is signed Joan Hill (Chea-se-quah).
