Dennis Edaakie was born in 1931 and was a member of the Parrot Clan. He was active silversmithing from 1954 until his death in 2008. He collaborated from about 1965 onwards with his wife Nancy, who was born in 1937 and a member of the Frog Clan. Some sources claim he was taught silversmithing by his uncle Jake Haloo but Edaakie himself has stated that he learned a lot from watching his father, but was otherwise self-taught.
