This is a hardcover edition of “CRAZY HORSE The Strange Man of the Oglalas” by Mari Sandoz. It is a 1st printing and published by Alfred A. Knopf in New York in 1942. The book and rare dust jacket are in near fine condition. This book covers the life of Crazy Horse, a famous Native American warrior and leader of the Oglala Lakota. The author, Mari Sandoz, provides a detailed and insightful look into the life of this influential figure in Native American history. Considered by many to be the best and most authentic book ever written about this legendary chief as the author relied almost entirely upon Indian sources. It would be a great addition to any collection of books on Native American history or for those interested in the life of Crazy Horse. The book is listed as #97 in Tal Luther’s Custer High Spots. Spectacular RARE handmade Sterling Silver and 14k Gold detail MICHAEL LITTLE ELK d. 2016 Belt and Buckle- buckle signed ML Elk 14k with a makers mark- no sterling mark- acid tested for sterling silver buckle alone weighs about 8.5 ounces-most likely one-of-a-kind. All his jewelry is handmade and not cast. Silver buckle is 12″ x 2 1/8″ with a 1 1/8″ wide soft velvety suede black belt strap- belt strap can be made to 42 1/4″ at the largest – is adjustable and can be made as small as you need. In good condition- normal scratches for it’s age – circa 80’s I believe- has 3 beautiful Purple GEMSTONES- not sure what type of gem they are- the bezels on the stones as well as other small triangles and shapes are a 14k solid Gold layer-not vermeil. The suede belt has some wear and creases. Artist Bio:”Michael Little Elk was raised in South Dakota on the Rosebud Reservation where he was fortunate enough to learn the traditions of his Native Lakota-Sioux culture.”’Raised on the reservation by his grandmother, this creative jeweler lived in the southwest, with his Navajo wife. However, his beautifully detailed, hand-wrought pieces reflect his Plains heritage in subject matter. He liked to accent his silver work with gold details, and create variety with polish, texture, darkened silver, etc. Horses and horsemen were favorite subjects, as were el warriors, and narratibe pieces depicting Lakota lore.’ His jewelry and sculptures have been included in the collections of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian and numerous galleries around the United States. Vintage Gotz starshine dolls Morningstar And Little Bear Dolls. Moveable body they will stand sit look in different direction.. They have original boxes and paper. The girl doll as seen in pic’ has some damage to hand her the tip of her little finger is gone and she was bitten so she does have a hurt hand. They have been kept in the box for many years not sure the age of dolls i know they are at least 15 years old if not older they were only out of there box for a short time to show in a store and my puppy got her hand while i was putting some other dolls up at the time. They are so cute, and the detail on them from their clothes to the jewerly is beautiful thank you for looking. Any question please message me.
