Rare Original Native American CDV Of Shell Crown Fort Reno, Indian Territory
The images date to when the photographer’s Cosand and Mosser. Were located at Fort Reno was still referred to as Indian Territory. Written in period script on the front of the mount is the identification of this mother as Shell Crown and Child. The woman wears her hair tied with ornate ribbons, has a wool trade blanket draped over her shoulders of her dress. She lovingly holds the child in her lap. The rear of the mount has the photographer stamp. A fantastic portrait for your Native American or Western photo collection. CONDITION : Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The CDV is in amazing antique condition with some fading, but good tones and sharpness. The subjects names are written in period pen at the bottom edge of the mount and also on the rear with the words, Parents and Cheyenne. The the front and back are very clean and the mount is in amazing condition. The photographer’s stamp remains bold.
