UPDATE: 9/13/20 – An expert in authentic Native American Indian jewelry notified me that this is EXTREMELY RARE and that possibly the only Bald Eagle Carlene made. Unfortunately, Carlene died so there is no way to verify this with her. ZUNI Native American Indian BALD EAGLE Squash Blossom Necklace. There are no “blossoms” but this is considered that type of necklace by some Native American Indian collectors. Handmade by Zuni Native American Indian artist CARLENE LEEKITY (Carlene died in 2014 – some obituaries say 2013 – but she is no longer living). Hallmarked: Carlene Leekity, Zuni Guaranteed AUTHENTIC vintage Carlene Leekity necklace. Carlene also hallmarked this 10-4-90 (which I presume is the date she completed this set – authentic Carlene pieces have what appears to be a date). 100% STERLING SILVER guaranteed. Sterling silver is tarnishing which is “natural” for sterling silver items due to “oxidation” from being exposed to the air thru time. Genuine natural stones: turquoise, red coral, abalone, mother-of-pearl seashell stones and black jet jet is fossilized tree material that is millions of years old (similar to amber only BLACK in color). There may be some other stones I forgot to mention (please see photos). Condition: VINTAGE but, remarkably, there are no missing stones, no damaged stones, no cracked stones.
