Navajo Made and Signed Michael Thomas Jr. Signed on back with inscription MIchael Thomas Jr. Assumed to be late 1900s Era. (Per similar Items found online). One of A Kind Piece. Michael Thomas Bear Claw Belt Buckle. Belt Buckle size – Medium. Southwest American / Native American. Silver – Native Attributes. Inscription by Michael Thomas Jr. 3-1/2″ in wide x 2-1/2″ in high. Notice a small Crack on outer rim. Authentic Red Coral. Authentic animal claw (Bear Claw). Native American Designed and Made. Great for any collector of Western or Southwestern Artifacts/ Collectibles. Perfect for any wearer of turquoise and silver. The Belt in the first picture is for reference and photo only. All pieces made by M Thomas Jr are handcrafted and one of a kind pieces. It is a very cool piece that we couldn’t and wouldn’t have ever turned down! We love getting items like this in. This piece came from a lady who used to be a great friend to a native who one day had her over for lunch and he gave her this belt buckle and 2 rings and 2 bolos all turquoise and coral and some with bone! She says they were friends for a very long time and she had no idea why he had given these items to her. But she had kept them long enough and it was time to part with them. There is a slit right at the center top of the belt buckle. Other than that I can say that the buckle does show its age a bit. It is handmade so I can not call it perfect and I do not want to clean it too much. It is usable and it is beautifully crafted with Turquoise, red coral and bone. The sterling is melted and twisted into beautiful arrays of blackberry bushes designed to twist and surround the gems and claw almost as a natural setting you might see in the forest.
