This listing is for a large and unusual vintage sterling silver purple spiny oyster cross pendant. The stones are perfect and smooth; although, it could use some cleaning. The cross stones are set in a shallow shadowbox setting with silver stamped dots around the center stone and a stamped Navajo design around the entire outer edge. The back is marked “Sterling” and signed “L Bahe, ” possibly for Lorraine Bahe Livingston, described as a. A full-blooded Navajo from Kinyaa’áanii (the Towering House clan). (Water’s Edge clan), she lives in the small community of Superman Canyon on the Navajo Indian Reservation just outside of Gallup, New Mexico. The cross measures 3 3/8″ long, including the attached bail, by 2″ wide and weighs 43 grams. The bail is large but somewhat narrow but can accommodate a large chain or 5-6mm beads. The purple stones used in this cross are purple spiny oyster, but I don’t know what the cream colored stones are, possibly also spiny oyster or white turquoise. I’ve never seen a cross quite like this.
