RARE Native American Indian Navajo necklace, by the late PHIL LORETTO. Sterling Silver necklace with Cain dangles & micro mosaic inlay work; Stones consisting of Turquoise, Coral, Mother of Pearl, Lapis, Jet and Opal, with handmade chain, beads and hook closure. Phils signature marking is on the back center inlaid piece and on the back end beads (see photos). The necklace is in good used condition: there are no missing inlaid pieces. The necklace is approximately 18 ½ inches long from end to end. Total Weight of the necklace is 43.9 grams. Please check the detailed description above for this items measurements & colors, I take my photos with a macro camera lens and it tends to make items look a little larger and lighting can distort actual colors. Although this does not have the typical “squash blossoms” it is considered that style/type of necklace by many collectors of Native American Indian jewelry. I tried to figure out what type of animals these are. Please study photos to verify my “opinion” of what the animals are: Large lower pendant appears to be either a WOLF or COYOTE. Of 1930’s to 1940 vintage, created during the time Frank Dishta worked for famous trader C. Like a star sprinkled sky, a multitude of tiny turquoise gems form intricate clusters in imaginative configurations. Squash blossoms sit in high relief above double strands of lustrous sterling silver beads, creating added dimension. Fabulous geometric turquoise blossom clusters encircle and define the intricately fashioned Naja. Measurements: 24 from end to end. Good Day to You! I have an Awesome Unique Vintage Navajo Sterling Silver Pearl Beads and Spider Woman Squash Blossom Necklace. In my time of collecting Native American Jewelry I have never seen a Naja this unique and gorgeous. The Naja is a Spider with two turquoise cabochons with beautiful brown matrix. It stands 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 at its widest point. It is stamped “LG” with a pictograph (see pics). There are some very delicate hairline fractures on the surface of the stone (see pics) – potentially original in nature but can not confirm. It ends with sterling cones and traditional hook and eye clasp. The necklace is 28 inches long. It weights 113.46 grams. It has an age natural light patina that complements each bead. The styling of this necklace is very rare. Hallmarked by artist: See photo for artist’s hallmark. 100% sterling silver thru-out the entire necklace. Ornate sterling silver handwork 100% HANDMADE. Please note: There is some tarnishing on the sterling which is to be expected on pre-owned sterling. Genuine NATURAL Turquoise from the MORENCI mine in Arizona. Absolutely GORGEOUS turquoise stones – intense brilliant MORENCI blue with interesting black matrix. Stones have an interesting “rustic lumpy bumpy” texture from nature. This turquoise was mined back in the 1950’s when you could still get HIGH GEM QUALITY turquoise. 25 clasp to clasp. Suitable for most male/female necklines. IMPORTANT: THIS IS HUGE & EXTREMELY HEAVY. Just so you know ahead of time. No surprises when you open up your package from me. Lower Pendant – 4″ x 3″ (YES this is HUGE). The UPPER side pendants = 3 3/4. This is a big, bold, “showy” necklace around the neckline. I’m old and sometimes have “bad days” but generally I go to post office at 5:00pm week days before post office closes at 5:30pm.
