Reference is Prehistoric Artifacts of the Texas Indians, D R Davis Jr (1991, pp 24-25). Authentic Rare Large Paleo South Texas Uvalde Arrowhead Projectile Dart Point. The U-shaped base distinguishes this point from the Martindale and Baker Points. Authentic Rare South Texas Baker Arrowhead Projectile Dart Point. South Texas Prehistoric Native American Artifacts, Nueces River Headwaters, Early Archaic (6,000 to 4,000 BC), Middle Holocene Glacial Period, Edwards Plateau Chert, Excellent condition. The Gower dart was most likely used with a spear throwing stick (Atlatl) The Gower Points are like the Pedernales, Uvalde, and Baker Points of South Texas. Reference is Prehistoric Artifacts of the Texas Indians, D R Davis Jr (1991, pp 32-33). 2 Rare Authentic South Texas Plainview Projectile Point, Arrowhead Dart. South Texas Prehistoric Native American Artifact, Nueces River Headwaters, Paleo-Indian to Early Archaic (8000 BC to 6000 BC), Late Pleistocene to Early Holocene Glacial Periods, Excellent Condition. South Texas Prehistoric Native American Artifact, Nueces River Valleys, Most Common in Northeast Texas associated with the Caddoan Culture, Late Prehistoric into the Historic Period (1100 to 1600 AD), Edward Plateau Chert, Excellent Condition. This point is typical with the Bow and Arrow weaponry system. Washita Point is like Harrell Point which has a basal notch. The Reference is Prehistoric Artifacts of the Texas Indians, D R Davis Jr (1991, pp 262-263). Beautiful Large Authentic South Texas Frio Walking Man Point Arrowhead Projectile Dart Point. One of a kind South Texas Prehistoric Native American Artifact, Nueces River Valleys, Late to Transitional Archaic (1000 BC to 500 AD), Roman Warm Glacial Period, Outstanding Condition. The Frio points are like the Ensor, Edgewood, and Fairland points with the Frio stem looking like a walking man. Reference is Prehistoric Artifacts of the Texas Indians, D R Davis Jr (1991, pp 92-93). Unique Authentic Abasolo Arrowhead Projectile Dart Point. The Abasolo resembles the Tortugas in which both show steep beveling along the lateral edges and this Abasolo point exhibits steep beveling on the left lateral edge and the curvature point resulting with a left-handed twist as it hits the game for a lethal kill. Reference is Prehistoric Artifacts of the Texas Indians, D R Davis Jr (1991, pp 22-23). 2 Authentic South Texas Lange Dart, Arrowhead Projectile Point. South Texas Prehistoric Native American Artifact, Nueces River Valleys, Early to Middle to Late Archaic Periods (1000 BC to 500 AD), Neoglacial Glacial Period, Mexican Flint, Excellent Condition. South Texas Prehistoric Native American Artifacts, Nueces River Headwaters, Late to Transitional Archaic (1000 to 500 BC), Neoglacial Glacial Period, Edwards Plateau Chert, Excellent condition. This Marcos point is like the Castroville point, key distinguishing features are that the Castroville is nearly always straight up from the base and the Marcos base usually flares. Reference is Prehistoric Artifacts of the Texas Indians, D R Davis Jr (1991, pp 120-121). Authentic South Texas Harrell Arrowhead Projectile Dart Point. Reference is Prehistoric Artifacts of the Texas Indians, D R Davis Jr (1991, pp 224-225). Authentic South Texas Tortugas Projectile Point, Arrowhead, Dart. South Texas Prehistoric Native American Artifact, Nueces River Watershed, Early Archaic to Middle Archaic (3000 BC to 2000 BC), Neoglacial Glacial Period, Edward Plateau Chert, Excellent Condition. The Tortugas Point is probably part of the continuum beginning with the Early Triangular, the Tortugas, the Anthon, and the Fresno Points. Tortugas and Anthon Points are the most similar with the main difference being the smaller size of the Anthon Point with the point being sharper and slightly lanceolate. The Early Triangular is also the most like the Tortugas in appearance. The Early Triangular Point is most often more equilateral in its triangular appearance and basal thinning makes this point much thinner at the base with the removal of longitudinal flakes. Reference is Prehistoric Artifacts of the Texas Indians, D R Davis Jr (1991, pp 166-167). Authentic South Texas Early Triangular Projective Point. South Texas Prehistoric Native American Artifact, Nueces River Watershed, Transitional Paleo to Early Archaic (7000 BC to 3000 BC), Early Holocene to Neoglacial Glacial Periods, Edward Plateau Chert, Excellent Condition. The Early Triangular point and the Tortugas point are similar in general appearance, they both have steep beveling on the lateral edges and the bases are often thinned for hafting. The Early Triangular Point is most often more symmetrical in its triangular appearance and often exhibits parallel oblique flaking not characteristic by the Tortugas Point, basal thinning makes this point much thinner at the base with the removal of longitudinal flakes. Reference is Prehistoric Artifacts of the Texas Indians, D R Davis Jr (1991, pp 68-69). 4 Authentic South Texas Anthon Projective Point. South Texas Prehistoric Native American Artifact, Nueces River Watershed, Middle Archaic (2000 BC to 1500 BC), Neoglacial to Medieval Warm Glacial Periods, Edward Plateau Chert, Excellent Condition. The Anton Point is the most like the Tortugas Point being the hardest to distinguish, simplest way is to remember that the Anton Point looks like a Tortugas Point in miniature and a narrower artifact. The Early Triangular is symmetrical in its triangular appearance. Reference is Prehistoric Artifacts of the Texas Indians, D R Davis Jr (1991, pp 30-31). 2 Authentic South Texas Abasolo Arrowhead Projectile Dart Point. The Reference is Prehistoric Artifacts of the Texas Indians, D R Davis Jr (1991, pp 212-213). Authentic South Texas Toyah Bird Point, Arrowhead, Projectile Point. Toyah Point is like Harrell Point in which the primary difference is that the basal corners are normally triangular while the Harrell has square basal corners. The Washita was originally considered a subtype of the Harrell Point. The Reference is Prehistoric Artifacts of the Texas Indians, D R Davis Jr (1991, pp 258-259). Authentic South Texas Carrollton Projectile Point. South Texas Prehistoric Native American Artifact, Nueces River Headwaters, Middle Archaic (2500 BC to 1000 BC), Neoglacial to Medieval Warm Glacial Periods, Edward Plateau Chert, Excellent Condition.
