NAVAJO ARTIST EUGENE JOE “BATSOSLANII” 1977 ORIGINAL VINTAGE SAND PAINTING WITH TURQUOISE NUGGETS. STORED FOR MANY YEARS. IMAGE MEASURES 14″ X 16″, FRAMED MEASUREMENTS TOTAL 22 X 24. ” IMAGE IS BEAR FETISH IN BEAUTIFUL COLORS WITH 2 – 1/4″ TURQUOISE NUGGETS ON IT’S SIDE AND ONE 1/8 NUGGET AT THE EYE. SURROUNDING THE BEAR FETISH IS A FLUTE PLAYER, TURTLE, BUTTERFLY AND LIZARD. THE SANDPAINTING FITS INTO THE FRAME WITH THE HOPSACKING MATTING, MADE FOR THE PIECE. For Your Consideration we are proud to present this solid 14k Gold Squash Blossom Necklace with Gem-Grade Turquoise. This unbelievably beautiful piece weighs in at 250 grams and features some of the finest turquoise we have ever seen. Pictures really cannot do justice to this piece, but we have done our best with our mediocre digital camera. The turquoise might be Bisbee, but it also might be Red Mountain. There appears to be a pyrite matrix in each of the turquoise stones, refer to pics for specific details. Our best guess is that this necklace is circa 1970s, and the artist is unknown. The hallmarks are “14k” and what appears to be “DJ, ” but we wonder if there is a third letter to the maker’s mark hallmark. We are trying to find out more details about the maker, it is quite a mystery at this point in time. We appreciate your kindness, and thank you for your continuing support. UPDATE: Please respect our listing and refrain from rudeness and harassment. Here’s an example of what not to do. Once again, this form field is for asking questions, please no not do what I just asked you not to do. Then they’ll send you a message. Every time you post a comment in the “ask question” form field, it highlights a bright red “UNANSWERED QUESTION” banner which distracts me from working with serious buyers who are actually interested in purchasing an item. This form field is for questions only, not offensive comments. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for your harassment. I never asked why it’s important. You only thought that. I said it’s just another squash blossom. That’s all it is. You wanted to know why it was “very important, ” and I answered that question. Now, what is your next question. You want to know how I became the new owner of this wonderful piece? Just another squash blossom. Look, I’ve been doing this over 30 years. Nothing special about it. Now, you didn’t answer my question. I looked it up and didn’t see anything significant. Just another squash blossom necklace. So be the same one. Just means someone had it before you. How did you get it? Do a search for a VERY IMPORTANT 14K gold squash blossom necklace made by DJ and you will find the listing from Wickliff Auctioneers from 2015. Let me know what you think, I truly value your opinion. In photos it looks sterling. Can’t see any gold.
