This is a rare vintage Battle Mountain Blue Gem Turquoise Necklace, 17-1/2 long. It has 44 turquoise nuggets that total approximately 270 carats and weighs 54 grams. The nuggets graduate from 10mm to 15mm. The silver weight is 3.77 grams. The overall weight of the necklace is 57.77 grams. There are 16 handmade seamed sterling silver beads that measure 5mm each. It is strung on foxtail and finishes with custom handmade sterling silver cones that are hand wrapped. The patina that has developed has been left. You can polish it to your liking or leave as is. The Battle Mountain Blue Gem mine was closed in the 1970’s. This lovely piece was acquired in 1972 from the Pueblo Santo Domingo Rosetta family and has been warehoused until now.
