Spectacular Harry Morgan Ring. The kind that makes a collectors heart skip a beat. This stone is unlike any other stone I have ever seen and the size of it makes it even that much more impressive. The color is beautiful, the matrix is unique and the size of the stone is perfect. This is definitely the kind of ring that goes in the vault and worn for special occasions. I mean can you believe that stone?? It’s pure perfection. The last picture is this ring and 2 other rings made by Harry Morgan to show the difference in size! The other 2 rings are also listed for sale in other listings. (this listing is only for the 1 Harry Morgan ring). Harry Morgan’s jewelry looks as though it could have been made a century ago. The stamps he uses to decorate his work were inherited from his parents and uncles if they were not his own. Much of his work was made with silver he rolled himself and he only used the finest natural turquoise. He puts a satin finish on every piece to give it an antique look. “That’s the way old style jewelry should look, ” he explains. When silver is all shined up it hides all of the intricate detail in the stamp work and the bezels. This older style is what I grew up with and what I love. He learned to silversmith while still in high school, and in 1965 after graduating, he began working with his uncles, Charlie Bitsui and Ike Wilson, two of the finest Navajo silversmiths. Both of them had many pieces in the famous C. Wallace collection, one of the finest collections of Native American jewelry ever assembled. He learned to do all types of silver work, from sand casting to fabrication. He credits his jewelry interest to his mother and her work. He won awards at every major Indian art show and had an exhibit featuring his work at the Heard Museum North in 2007, the year before he died. Harry lived near Gallup, New Mexico, where he grew up and was an rancher and avid horseman. Three of his five children–Kelley, Greg and Jacob–have taken up the art form. I told them all to find something the love and stick with it. I’m glad that some of them have learned to silversmith. I get paid for doing what I love to do. That’s the best part of being a silversmith.

This museum-quality gorget is a fine-grained sandstone breastplate symbolizing rank or authority and worn at the breast by suspension from the neck; it is usually rectangular or ovoid, flat and two-holed so that it will hang horizontally. The artisan who carved this large and extremely rare quadrilateral, five-hole gorget evidently intended to create a truly unique symbol; there are four evenly-spaced drilled perforations of equal size, a fifth, much larger medial perforation and all edges have been rounded. 5″ x 3.25″ x. 5 and in excellent condition. Recovered from Waterloo County in eastern Canada, near Niagara Falls, and previously number “56” in the Bates Collection, painted in red on one edge. Is attributed to the Eastern Woodlands culture. If not to U.

EXTREMELY RARE! Ca. 1000 CE NATIVE AMERICAN ROLLED COPPER BEADSWEARABLE STRAND
WEARABLE STRAND EARLY NATIVE AMERICAN ROLLED COPPER BEADS. Note: These are not Trade beads. They are made by Native Americans from early finds of. Raw copper, pre-dating the arrival of the White Man. Reportedly found in Wisconsin, these are the finest example. Of this rare type of early Native American rolled copper beads. Usually, when they turn up, they are few in number and. Far too deteriorated to string as a wearable necklace. Description: 20 inches (doubled), the necklace has two kinds of copper beads. Rolled tubular, and small copper discs. They are from the same find and epoch. The separating white beads are early 19th century glass trade beads. The clasp is gold filled. There are 19 tubular beads ranging in length from 1 to 2 inches. Their condition, by and large, is excellent. My opinion, based on archeological finds of similar types. Notably, the Milwaukee Public Museum, which has. Several similar beads not a necklace! Dates them much earlier, to the late Archaic period, about 1,500 BCE. One archeologist has this to say: These (similar) beads appear. To have been made using the cold-hammer technique, made of raw. Pieces of copper hammered into thin sheets then rolled into. These prehistoric copper beads are extremely rare. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Cultures & Ethnicities\Native American: US\Pre-1600\Artifacts”. The seller is “raph_donn” and is located in this country: US.
