Rare Signed Vintage Native American ELSIE YAZZIE Navajo Necklace And Earrings

ELSIE YAZZIE, the Matriarch of the the YAZZIE Family that was recently the subject of “GLITTERING WORLD”, an amazing exhibit in NYC at The National Museum of the American Indian, part of the Smithsonian. The family are members of the NAVAJO Tribe. It ran from 11/13/14 through 01/10/16. This Early handmade necklace and earrings are wonderful examples of the early workmanship that ELSIE handed down to her extraordinarily talented family. This outstanding necklace and earrings feature hand stamped barrel beads along with handmade fluted beads. The beads are strung on silver rope so that at the bottom center of the necklace there are 2 fluted beads together so that the wearer might add a pendant. The earrings are pierced. All are in exquisite condition. The necklace measures 24.5 long. It weighs 88 grams. The earrings 1 & 5/8 long. By 5/16 wide and weigh 8 grams. The necklace is marked EY and Sterling on the top barrel beads on either side of the necklace. These extraordinary necklace and earrings will be a valuable and historic addition to anyone’s collection. I will be adding more incredible pieces, s please take a look.
