Austin Wilson (Active 1930’s-1950’s) was an important accomplished artist. Like his talented contemporaries and colleagues, Ambrose Roanhorse and Kenneth Begay, Wilson also had a distinctly Modernist design sensibility and he used his formidable mastery of traditional Navajo silversmithing techniques to create pieces with a startlingly spare and highly-refined design sensibility. This GORGEOUS Sterling Silver Shadowbox Dome Vintage Heart Necklace Signed JGT. Arts and Crafts demi parure of necklace and dangle earrings. The cutout design is dramatic on the puffed dome disks. The central medallion features a modernist design which is organic representing little abstract hearts forming the petals of a flower. The smaller domes have the abstract heart design as well. Nine graduated domes are linked together to form a gorgeous Squash Blossom style. The matching dangle earrings are fashioned in a Puffed Teardrop shape and also feature a cut out design with the Awesome Heart Scroll.
