RARE NATURAL GRASSHOPPER TURQUOISE & CORAL Pendant Necklace, Navajo R&E Endito. For your consideration is this rare handcrafted sterling silver natural Grasshopper Turquoise and Red Coral pendant necklace by renown Navajo artisans Randy and Etta Endito. The two unique Natural Grasshopper stones exhibit the widely different character of this special turquoise and are accented by an arched strip of bright red coral. The first stone, in rich bright green, has infusions of light green and white as well as deep dark brown matrix. The lower stone has such a wealth of chocolate brown matrix and glittering golden sienna infusions that you must look twice for the bright green there. Each stone is surrounded with sparkling silver bead wire that also edges the wide silver bale, completing the look. The Primavera beads are fascinating in shades of green from dark forest through olive to lime. The beads graduate from 9mm to 5mm at the ends. The gorgeous pendant measures approx 1-1/16″ wide x 2-7/8″ long while the beads necklace is about 19 long. Closes with hook-eye clasp. Stamped Sterling and hallmarked. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. A spectacular piece of Native jewelry art that shows the diverse properties of the Grasshopper turquoise. Taken together this One-of-a-Kind necklace is endlessly fascinating and highly collectible! The Grasshopper Turquoise mine is a very low production hat mine (this is a term for a very small mine as you can cover the mines production with your hat) in northern Nevada. Lander Blue is also considered a hat mine as it only yielded a few hundred pounds of material. The Grasshopper mine is so small you could hardly fit a mid size car in the main pit. The colors of this mine range from a beautiful light spider web blue to an intense faustite green. Faustite is the zinc rich analogue of turquoise having almost four times as much zinc than copper in its crystal structure. Some examples of mines that produce Faustite turquoise are the Carico lake mine and the Orvil Jack mine. Faustite Turquoise is very rare. As a result, the turquoise from the Grasshopper mine is highly collectible and the fact that this turquoise is small production and little known, makes it extremely collectible. In addition to all that, it is just absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for looking and be sure to check out my store for more selections of authentic Native American jewelry and artifacts!
