6 Pair of Native American Beadwork doll Moccasins – 1920’s-1930’s California. These small moccasins were made by the Chumash, Serrano, Gabrielino, Cahuilla, Kumeyaay, Maidu, Miwok, Yokuts, Yurok, Karok, Hupa, and/or Wiyot tribes. I was told that some were seal hide or leather while others are leathers from other animals. Not sure which is which… They measure 3 5/8″ to 4 1/4″. All are still in very nice condition for their age.

This Native American Effigy is a rare piece of art created from volcanic rock, also known as vascular basalt. This’rock’ is believed to have been blown out upon eruption as compared to my only other piece with a volcano origin which’flowed’ down the volcano, hitching a ride in molten lava causing it to weigh a fraction of what this piece weighs. The intricate details of this handmade piece showcase the rich culture of Native American art in the United States. The provenance of this artifact is not available, but it is certain to be a valuable addition to any collection. The Cherokee tribe is known for their unique tribal affiliation and this piece is no exception. This super rare artifact is a testament to the skill and artistry of Native American artists and more proof that no stone (or stone-like substance) went unturned! It is a true piece of history and a valuable treasure for any collector. They were found within 50 yards of one another in north Louisiana USA.

The hole appears to be hand drilled using a “drill” point as was typical of the Timucua Indians of the region. Tooth measures 1 7/8 from tip to root. 100% authentic, no restoration or repair. A 18 brown leather necklace is included. My pictures are part of the description so study them carefully. From a smoke-free, pet-free home.

Bought from an 90+ yr old lady in Arizona in 2021. She had them kept away for decades and had long forgotten exact details. These are made of real Arizona red rock, there is no signature only a couple knife markings type on the back In some Roman numeral. It’s a 3 sided piece weighing approximately 40 pounds.
