Vintage Zuni Native American Turquoise Belt Buckle RARE GORGEOUS MINT
This listing is for a vintage Zuni hand made belt buckle, made of solid sterling silver and turquoise. This is a very rare belt buckle being made with TONS of petite point turquoise stones. It was made with a very thick and hearty slab of silver that measures 3 wide by 2 tall. Every single stone is in MINT condition. The Artist arranged the stones in alternating rows, where they lay horizontal and vertical. With their bright blue/green color hues and very light matrixes, they pop out of their sawtooth bezels ever so slightly. Below the stones the silver has tarnished and created a lovely patina making the stones pop even more. Its a simple design yet, looks like it was very tedious work. To finish the design the outer edge of the buckle was adorned with silver droplets between each row of stones. This buckle is older dating back to the later mid-century (70s-80s). Although its a vintage piece it has a very modernized look. This is a very special piece that is not only a work of Art but also a tangible asset. Add this buckle to your existing Native American jewelry collection or let it be the first piece to the one youve always wanted. Cherish and enjoy this gorgeous buckle today….. And pass it down to a loved one in the future. Weight – 81.5 Grams. Width (East to West) – 3. Height (North to South) – 2. Belt keeper inside width – 1-1/2. Total number of stones – 140 total stones, 8 rows of horizontal stones with 10 each and 3 rows of vertical stones with 20 each. Stones measure – 1/4 long, the stones and their bezels sit on top of the buckle at 1/8 high. Stamped sterling – NO, tested and verified. Signed by Artist – NO. Mid to later mid century, late 1960s – early 1980s. I treat every item as if it were my own. Extra bubble wrap and packing materials are used to ensure a safe arrival to its new owner. CALVIN MARTINEZ Vintage Navajo Coral Cuff Bracelet 114 Grams RARE
T his listing features an extremely important and valuable cuff bracelet made by one of the most famous Navajo Artists of all time. This heavy gauge red coral cuff was made by the esteemed, and highly valued Navajo master silversmith, Calvin Martinez. This traditional revivalist bracelet features 13 high grade red coral cabochons. Martinez is known for using only the finest of natural stones in his work and this piece truly shows it. Each coral piece resides in extremely fine-etched sawtooth bezels and lay perfectly spaced apart with just 1 millimeter between them. This tiny gap between the stones allow for the dark oxidized silver to show through and add depth, truly making the coral pop. Martinez added more depth and dimension with raised silver droplets that rest between each coral stone running down each side of the cuff. Each silver droplet is perfectly hand poured and of the exact same size. Moving along towards the gap each side of the cuff portrays detailed traditional hand stamped designs that extend from the corals to each end of the cuff. This bracelet is extremely heavy, thick, and solid. It weighs a total of 114 grams! The gap is somewhat small compared to the inner circumference but can be sized to fit the wrist simply by applying pressure to the ends. At its present state the cuff would fit a 6 wrist with out falling off due to the gap being only 1 wide. It would however slide up and down the arm. This cuff would also fit a larger wrist of 7-1/2 but it would need to be adjusted by opening the gap up slightly. So whether you have a small wrist of 6 or a larger wrist of 7 -7.5, this cuff could work for you. Just know that if your wrist is larger then the gap it will need to be widened either by you or a jeweler. The back is polished in style, and bears the hallmark C. MTZ” in an arrowhead which is the Hallmark for “Calvin Martinez. The inside is stamped “sterling” as well. This fantastic museum quality piece hand made by Martinez is sure to not disappoint. The design is simple yet stunningly beautiful with the most beautiful silver work and it doesnt have that overly large gaudy look…. Its a very well thought out solid piece…. This piece will make a great addition to any existing Native American collection and will be passed down for generations. Cherish and enjoy this gorgeous bracelet today…. And hand it down to your loved ones in the future. I will entertain reasonable offers… Lets make a deal! Weight – 114 Grams. Inner Circumference end to end – 6-3/8. Gap/Opening – just a smidgen under 1 (31/32). Total size of inner cuff including gap – 7-3/8. Width of cuff – 5/8. Thickness/Depth of cuff – the silver alone is 1/8 thick, the silver and the stones have a depth of 1/4. Coral Stones measure – 1/2 long by 5/16 wide. Signed by Artist – YES, Navajo Artist and Master Silversmith, Calvin Martinez. Stamped Sterling – YES, tested and verified. Later mid century, 1980s -1990s. Condition – Preowned, in excellent vintage condition with all original pieces and slight patina to silver, very minimal wear, ready to wear or display. I treat every item as if it were my own. RARE 2 Face Vintage Navajo YEI Rug Blanket Double Sided 30 x 23
This is a vintage Navajo handwoven rug in a rare 2 faced design. It measures 30″ long by 23″ wide. Since it has 2 separate sides it is thicker than a normal rug. The vast majority of Navajo weavings show the same design on both sides. A few master weavers specialize in double sided/2 face rugs like this one. They are hard to weave and take longer than normal Navajo rugs (which already take many hours to weave). That makes this rug a great find for your collection of Navajo textiles! This rug has no odors, rips, tears or stains. There are a couple small areas of old moth damage that aren’t very noticable. Check out my other Navajo rugs and Native American turquoise jewelry.
