Vintage Zuni Carlene Leekity BALD EAGLE Squash Blossom Necklace, Sterling, RARE
Zuni Native American Indian Squash Blossom Necklace. Handmade by Zuni Indian CARLENE LEEKITY (see photos for artist’s personal hallmark). Sadly, Carlene died in 2014, so unfortunately she will no longer be handcrafting her precious handcrafted necklaces. I very rarely can find these CARLENE LEEKITY special handmade pieces of art… Most are now in museums and private collections. Sometimes they are pawned (for badly needed cash) and I get them for you when available. Circa: Unknown Excellent condition. No damaged or cracked stones. Sterling has tarnish which is to be expected on antique/vintage sterling silver items. Genuine natural TURQUOISE, BLACK ONYX, RED CORAL and MOTHER OF PEARL SEASHELL stones painstakingly hand-set in the very labor intensive handcrafted MOSAIC style of jewelry making. Amazingly no missing stones. Necklace: 28 long (clasp to clasp). Naja pendant: 2 1/4″ x 2″. Sturdy wearable weight but most likely this will be going into a collection of rare and hard-to-find authentic Native American Indian art. Excellent condition for it’s age with no missing stones, no damage to sterling silver and it’s in wearable condition. Thank you very much for your understanding.
