Taino Published Carved Shell Artifact RARE

A published, documented carved shell artifact, showing a stylized human face. The piece demonstrates culturally known design values including eye and mouth surrounds, defined brow ridges and the general shape of the face. Known as a guaiza, these pieces were given by local chiefs to other chiefs.
